Very easy to understand: if I am working on a task alone this will take me definitly more time to finish this task compared to that situation if there are two, three, four, five or more of us to work on the same task. We will achieve the goal what we set earlier or we can set higher aims what we will achieve during the same period... The work in team is usually more efficient ( but of course it is depend on the team leader!) compared to the separated induviduals.
The new Partner can realize that he/she can go faster with your help since he/she can use your knowledge too... and this is what he/she should gave further to his/her new Partners. As I think it is clear for everybody: if somebody made a decision to join there is no reason to go slow if you have a chance to go faster with duplication...
