My opinion is that you don't try to convince them.
There are methods every affiliate on SFI can adopt in order to reach their goals, which might not even require having a standing order at all. Teach them all the options you can, and let them decide, for themselves, what's best for them.
If you try too hard, you might make them feel you're only doing it to serve your own purposes, and they might become defensive.
