This is really two separate questions. You should continuously be sponsoring new affiliates.
Some subscribe to sponsoring massive numbers of affiliates and hoping a few stay with it. The old adage~ Throw enough stuff against the wall and some of it is bound to stick~ will get you lots of sign-ups, hundreds,maybe thousands. But how can you support and teach that many affiliates all at once? Plus that can be pretty costly!
Just my opinion, but if you continuously sponsor a few affiliates at a time you can give all of them the attention and effort they deserve.
