Hello Bob, great question. I tell my downline to simply stick to the BASICS at first. This is NOT a quick-rich business. This is the REAL deal...and should be treated as a real, physical, brick-&-mortar business. Now that we have the new Start page and video (thank you Gery), it's the perfect place to send our new affiliates. Read the Basics, accessed on the upper-right home page tab...and read one Launchpad article per day, as instructed. This is plenty for most affiliates, for the 1st month. If one reads too much per day, the "water seems to start getting muddy & confusing." I can't tell you how many times I have gone back to read the Basics, as well as several of the Launchpad articles...because SFI can appear to be a giant MAZE at times. You read one thing, then hit a link to another, and another...& before you know it, you're feeling as if you've drifted out to sea, without a life boat!
I also compare it to dumping out a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle on the table. At first, it looks impossible. However, once you start finding pieces that fit together, in separate groups, then you start to see a glimmer of hope. The more "groups" of pieces you find, the more exciting it becomes. Finally, once a "picture" starts emerging, you tell yourself, "I really CAN do this! This is doable." To put this analogy into practice, I would advise to begin reading George Little's Internet Income Course, listed underneath the Training tab, during your 2nd month. Lots of great info here. I would also start venturing over to the Tripleclicks store (YOUR store) more often and familiarize myself with it. Explore around with the links & tabs...same as wondering through a physical store. Find out where things are & how they work. After all, this store is our true bread & butter.
The most important thing I stress to my downline is PATIENCE. Patience is, after all, a virtue. Rome wasn't built in a day, right?...& neither will your SFI business be. Take your time, soak it all in (different pace for different people) and when you're finally ready, stick those toes in the water and try it out. Trust me, you won't drown. :)
