To use an autoresponder system in SFI you would first need to get your referrals to opt in to your list, this may or not be an easy task since most people who opt in usually end up opting out or just not reading sent mails unless your content is of absolute best quality.
You would need to make sure you offer them something of value to keep them reading your mails, an ecourse or tips on how to succeed in SFI.
Being too pushy could be detrimental to your final goal of gaining or keeping your affiliates active.
In my opinion you would be better off to put together an ecourse and promote it away from SFI and use it to get new signups under you at SFI. Keep in mind that on average it takes up to 7 opens per subscriber to get them to take action, so do include your affiliate link but don't be real pushy with it or you may end up losing more than gaining.
