If you have never attended a"real-life"auction, this is a difficult question to answer.
I have been to many auctions since my childhood. Here is my best advice:
1.) Be prepared. Decide how much you CAN afford to spend bidding.(Use the Auto-Bidder with much caution--You don't want to use all your "TCredits" in one auction and still lose it.)
2.) Many auctions have time limits--How long do you have to Bid? (Before your first auction bid, you should observe the patterns of bidders in a few of the other auctions. Then you can pick your 1st auction with informed care.
3) Is it a "Featured Auction"? If so, expect a lot of interest and bid very carefully at 1st. You want to gauge the extent of interest from other bidders. (We want to increase traffic to the site so, time of day is a big factor in planning these featured actions.)
4.) Do not give up TOO quickly!(You may prematurely decide to stop bidding and then lose the auction in the very next bidding cycle.) Good Luck.
