First and foremost if you dont have an active downline, it is pointless maintaing BTL.
Now it is actually very easy to maintain.
You need 3000vp every month to do that. Of the 3000vp you are allowed to make purchases/sales for 2000vp. (A standing order of 1500vp plus purchases for 500vp settles that)
you are now left with 1000vp. 492vp will come from daily and weekly activities, leaving you with just 508vp, any of the following actions or combination of actions should give you the 508vp.
1. Answer questions like this at ASK SC tab.
2. Bid at pricebender penny auctions.
3. Sponsor EA2s for a 100vp each.
4. Be a top 20 enroller.
5. Distribute gift cards.
6. Reassign PSAs.
And so many more, just use the one more suited to your needs.
