Another thing to consider is "ARE YOU A GOOD LEADER?". Keep advertising some advertising methods brings many low quality signups while some brings few high quality signups. Know what you want and work towards it... after all, we all want a good and responsive team to work with so better go for the quality signups. Most of the things here is about trial and error. If one you've tried didn't work well, try another. If others can be successful, i see no reason why you can't if you work hard.
