Hi, the best you can do is to make them sure that they are doing the right thing and they are on right place!
And how you do that.
Show them on your own example , be the first in the month who confirm your leader status, be there for them. Be leader on your team and learn that leadership is not something bad.

It is the way to succeed , and to be a best in this business.

Who is the better demographic to target in my ads? Retired persons...or homemakers?

This is a charm of SFI business. This job is for all sort of people, from 18. to 88.
From my personal experience I have in my team 18. years old boy and also a woman in mid-seventies... Both of them are excellent in SFI work.
So there are no rules in SFI.
I hope that I was helpful. Best regards to you and good luck!!!

What is the best way to maintain my SFI position and continue to support my team whilst on vacation with limited, if any, internet availability?

In the question, the answer lies. You said my team.. If is this true, you probably have at least one, if not more trustworthy person, serious, on whom you can rely. They will be in your absence, to help the team, solve problems, if any, and granting incentive. Oversee team, because it's their team, do not you ..? If your team has the power, everything will be fine.
I advise you, however, that if you can find a way and to complete daily tasks and greet your team....Send, that's nice holiday
