First of all, i like your question because currently i'm experiencing same problem and i'm going to tell you how i'm handling it.
When i reached EA for the first time,i was very happy and some PSA's and CSA's was assigned to me their co-sponsor. I started my job as their co-sponsor but along the line,the most active ones dropped even having reached their EA. I was worried. I kept sending them mails hoping they will come back someday which they never did. To cut it short,i moved on with other activities though i never stopped sending out mails to them. I beleive that you don't have to force something on someone if done so,he /she won't appeciate what you did. Allow the person to discover the true value of the thing and he will forever be grateful in doing so. So dear, there are so many other activities in this place. I will advise you to focus on those ones and never stop sending out your group mails.

I love this question. From my own perspective,i would say there are many ways mapped out for such:
- Tripleclicks: You get your commission when you sell stuffs at no cost.
- Referral program: you get paid when you refer/register someone.
- Act of duplication: The most powerful means to achieve success at very little or no cost. Get paid when your sponspored affiliate(s) make any purchase/sales.
