I like your question, because I've thought about it many times so far.

If I look at my regular job, no matter how much advocated, perfected and achieved success - the result is always the same. There are no reward for extra effort and the only profit one gets in this case is personal satisfaction and, possibly, recognition of similar people. I am quite sure that to convince someone over 50 is no harder task than to convince anyone else .
What matters is the attitude that people have towards life. If a person has a positive attitude and his lifestyle is focused on development, all you need to do is to explain that we are offering the opportunity for advancement.
It means the opportunity to learn many new things , which is challenging and gives person the feeling that he is capable and helpful.

Therefore, it's important to clearly and concisely explain the following things:
- What type of business we are doing
- What are the benefits of business that we are getting
- What the training looks like (most people are beginners in this business and the training is designed according to that) .

For those who are fighters and winners this will be enough incentive to get involved, no matter of age.

P.S. By the way, I'm already 50 and don't feel old at all. I'm still willing for new beginnings. :)
