The best way to do this is to lead by example!
Set up a standing order and your affiliates will see that you've done this by the badge you receive.
Purchase a S-Builder Co-op and your affiliates will see that you've done this by the badge you receive.
Become an IAHBE member and your affiliates will see that you've done this by the badge you receive.
Bid on auctions and when you win your affiliates will see that you've done this by the badge you receive.
Notice a trend? SFI has set up a system that allows you to lead by example, so your affiliates will see your success and how you do it.
And while the badges speak loudly for you, be sure to include how these purchases have helped your business in your weekly newsletter to your affiliates!

Above all else, what is the ONE THING that has made the difference for you in succeeding with SFI?

The key to my success has been the recognition that this is not an overnight, get rich scheme, but an actual business opportunity which requires hard work, focus and determination.
I recognize the fact that I need to spend a few minutes each day completing my daily to-do-list, rating ASKSC questions and re-reading training materials.
I have hundreds of inactive affiliates, but still take the time sending them information that will hopefully motivate them to return.
I regularly communicate with my active affiliates and make sure I respond to their inquiries within 24 hours or less.
I enter contests and the occasional win certainly keeps me going.
I recognize that like any business, some investment is required and higher investments often equivocate higher returns - so I invest in my business and it's growth.

How can we get across to our affiliates that investing minor (at least) amounts of money into SFI is smart?

This really comes down to leading by example. Once you place a standing order, you receive a badge that indicates this action - showing your downline what you do. If you have a membership with the IAHBE, you also receive a badge for this - again showing your downline what you do. If you have S-Builder Co-op shares, then again, you receive a badge and your downline can see what you do, and how you invest in your success!
As the month draws to an end, take a look at the vp ledgers of affiliates and see what they need to do to achieve the next rank. I always include free actions that can be completed, ideas for using MRP and then recommend purchases out of pocket. This gives them options and lets them make up their own mind.

How do you explain to prospects what SFI is about in a simple way?

It's always best keep things simple when explaining SFI and then letting the plethora of training materials give the deeper details.
When explaining SFI, I always start by asking the person if they've ever heard of penny auctions. Then, I let them know that TripleClicks not only has penny auctions, but also merchants from around the world selling their products at a discounted price.
I then go onto explain that at it's most rudimentary level, your focus in SFI is advertising TripleClicks and then getting commissions based on the sales that those who sign up through you make.
From there, I go onto explain that you are awarded with points for completing various actions which 'promote' you to higher rankings allowing you more opportunities for income.
Then I go onto explain that you can also build up a team and earn residual income from their actions.
Whether the person is interested or not, I give them one of my gateway urls and tell them to check it out for free. I also remind them that if they sign up through that link that they will become a member of my team and thus have my support and help at any time.

I almost gave up on SFI. What did you do to keep pushing forward?

My significant other is constantly pushing me to give up SFI as he does not see the potential in this great system - but I do!
I see all of the top earners, enrollers and leaders and know that if they can do it, so can I!
My downline also keeps me pushing forward - I would hate to give up on them and helping them achieve their goals, hopes and dreams. A big part of me wants to be successful so I can help others do the same.
How do I get my downline members to participate in my team contests?

Surprisingly, I've struggled with this too! You would think people would be all over free stuff, but oddly, they're not!
So far, the most effective thing for me is to let them know about the contests. I also have contests with varying degrees of difficulty, so my affiliates know that I will make good on delivering prizes and also to give them a sense of accomplishment.
I also award prizes even if they don't 'officially' enter, and then just send a quick reminder about the contests and why they've received whatever prize.

What are the benefits of IAHBE so that we can best introduce it to our affiliates?

The biggest benefit of IAHBE is all of the education that it provides.
I started SFI with absolutely no understanding or knowledge of online business - I just knew people were making money on the 'net, and I wanted to get in on it!
IAHBE has so many resources and articles, that it is a great way to really help newbies like me, and even more experienced marketers.
