You need to show genuine interest in your affiliates. Don`t look at them as potential money in your pocket but rather as people with whom you can work with and become long term business partners. After all your affiliates success is your success so the more you help them the more you help yourself. It can be quite overwhelming for a new affiliate in this business so be ready to spoon feed them initially until they get the idea of how to become successful.
