How does one support a new affiliate from the second month in gaining needed VersaPoints if he/she does not have any funds?

My suggestion would be to encourage them to set up a standing order. A standing order will allow them to gain versa points on their purchases on a monthly basis.
As their sponsor I would assist them financially with that standing order so that they can receive the returns of funds and use the funds they earned from me helping them, to sustain that standing order which would give them a fixed and consistent number of versa points each month.
When someone asks you why they should join SFI, what do you say?

SFI is a way to earn residual income. It is affiliate marketing that is two fold. You can earn money by having persons join under you and ensuring that each of you work together to earn your points.
SFI is a point rewarding system where you earn money for the points you make. Each day you are to check SFI and do everything on your to do list in order to earn points.
It also two fold, in that, it gives you a TripleClicks website where you can sell different items online as well as place your own products and sell them online.
Build your income by setting goals and working hard to achieve those goals. If you are not prepared to work, do not join SFI. We work with workers only.

How can I convince my downline of the benefits of having a Standing Order without them feeling pressured?

Once someone hears that they must input money that they don't necessarily have they will feel pressured.
Be tactical. Explain the benefits of the standing order.
1. Have a nice product each month that can be marketed and sold to the people around you to generate more income
2. Always have VersaPoints therefore increasing your level of rank in SFI
3. Earn commissions from the sales
Explain to them that the input would be greater than the output.

engaging affiliates on Social media sites is quite easy. Social media sites can be an easy tool to use for communication purposes.
You can also gain new affiliates via the social media sites when you share your achievements that you've earned while using SFI eg E365 achievements, T-Rewards, VersaPoints
