Hi Michael,

What I do know, having been part of another MLM business, is that for you to be successful in your business, you have to take control. You have to make it your business to learn everything about the company you have joined. Do not get into the habit of relying on your Sponsor to guide your way.

I would like to share the following quote:

"FIX YOUR FOCUS - LES BROWN

1. See yourself beyond your present circumstances. Visualize what you want.
2. Turn down the negative self-talk turn up the volume in the positive talk ‘I am doing GREAT’! tell yourself that several times a day.
3. Increase your sense that you deserve your ‘DREAM’
4. Increase in a personal library with books, that will motivate you, particularly biographies of those who have endured hardship. Persevered and then lived their dreams.
5. Assess yourself, realize your strengths and then work on your weaknesses
6. Demand more from yourself. Don’t hold back. You’ve got plenty of energy. Use it before you lose it.
7. Take risks.
8. Stand up for what you want. Don’t let anyone turn you around from the pursuit of your dreams
9. Surround yourself with supportive, quality people
10. Commit yourself to being unstoppable."

Don’t wait on your sponsor, or anyone for that matter, to help you realize your dream. Just Fix your Focus and you will succeed.

I look at it this way:

When people signup as affiliates, they had been in the process of researching a way to improve their current situation - whether it is financial or not. Sometimes people are not really looking for a financial change, but a change to get out of the current rut they are in or to change careers. We cannot know the individual circumstances of each affiliate. However, we should continue to offer encouragement and support until your affiliate requests otherwise.

So, keep on encouraging and offering support, you just never know when that affiliate's situation changes and they take a firm decision to actually pursue this opportunity.

To be a successful Leader, in any business, not just SFI, you need to figure out your "WHY".
Exactly what do you want out of life?
Picture yourself 5 years from now and see if you can picture your ideal life? Then ask yourself these questions:

1. What experiences (Holidays, travel etc.) or Objects (house, cars etc.) would you like to have?
2. What new skill would you like to learn or how do you want to grow?
3. How would you contribute to the World?

Once you have those questions answered. Ask yourself. What are you willing to do to achieve it and where does SFI fit into all this?

This is something that the greatest mentor, business coach, motivational speaker, or hero cannot instill in anyone. We can all be guided, inspired, given food for thought, but no-one can tell us precisely why we want the things we want in our lives and in our case, from our SFI business.

If YOUR why is strong enough, then the how is easy.

Sometimes the why seems to be strong enough but sometimes it is not, and is in fact based on values or dreams that have nothing to do with the individual. People aspire to them because that seems to be what everyone is aspiring to, or expects, or it sounds like a good idea at the time.

Stephen, thanks for this question.

I have only been with SFI for 5 months, so not a complete year. However, what I have learnt is for things to change in my life, I have to make those changes. I must focus on one aspect at a time, get to grips with it and not let anything or anybody distract me from achieving my goal.

When I first signed up with SFI, I had been investigating all sorts of ways of supplementing my current income. I was actually trying to get another program going, which was not getting me anywhere. A program that gives you access to filling in surveys, typing, transcribing reports etc. Sadly it did not yield a solitary cent. I had been excluded from the programs for geographical reasons – believe it or not.

In visiting some Traffic Exchanges I had signed up with SFI and just left it, not because I did not want to follow through with SFI but because my energy was so consumed with the data entry program which was actually not yielding a return at all. I put SFI on the backburner. Wow, do I regret that thought. I regret it since I had lost out on two covetous badges within the SFI business – FastTrack and the E365 challenge.

Working my SFI Business now, I am realising that I could have been in contention with both challenges. With 12,500 Total VP to my name to date (and counting), I am confident I would have still been in contention for the Class Champ badge in August this year. Alas, it is not to be. I missed the two opportunities to stay in the game (first 24hours to obtain the FastTrack Badge and second to re-qualify for the E365 Challenge if I had qualified BTL in my first 90 days).

I wish my Class mates all the success in the E365 Challenge and look forward to seeing who takes the honours in August this year.

I am now 100% focused on SFI and doing whatever it takes to make this business work. I certainly look forward to seeing how my affiliates take up the challenges and achieve their goals and dreams.
