Reading this question prompted me to change my welcome letter. I noticed that it wasn't very enthusiastic. I believe we should try and make a good first impression and the welcome letter is a great place to do it.
In my welcome letter the tips I would give my PSA's would be:
motivational, influential and real life. I would include a motivational quote. I would also stress to them to be patient and read about SFI and what it has to offer, and although they probably won't grasp a full understanding of it I would encourage them to stay motivated. I would encourage them to take a look at my leadership page, and also remember to log into SFI everyday and do the tabs on the home page. They will be able to learn a little more about SFI everyday. The number one tip of course is to never give up. In time they will learn all they need to know about SFI and how to make it work for them. I also encourage them to introduce themselves to the rest of the upline.

What should an affiliate do if their sponsor is non-responsive?

Aloha,
First of all it's a pity if a sponsor is non-responsive! I have had a great experience with mine. Second is it just the immediate sponsor, co - sponsor or is it the whole up - line who is unresponsive?
But this business is your business so you have to work around the negative and make it positive for you.
1. If you have a co - sponsor reach out to that co - sponsor
2. You have an up - line which provides other's who can be great resources reach out to them.
3. Use a2a for people who can help you.
4. If you were referred to this business by a friend or family member try contacting them.
5. Most importantly do not repeat the actions of a unresponsive sponsor.
Lastly don't get discouraged, build a network that you will be proud of and be an awesome sponsor. Set a great example and show yourself how to succeed even though there may be some short comings. Every business has their downside and I think a nun responsive sponsor is a downside but only a minor setback that you are able to work around.
I wish you luck, and hope that you are able to overcome this. SFI is a great tool to helping you achieve your financial dreams.
If you look at your up line you will find thee is more than one person that you may contact, I hope somewhere along that line of people one of them will be responsive.

What are the best ways to stay in contact with PSAs and CSAs and how often is best?

This is what I personally do:
I first have a scheduled date for my newsletters to go out to both my PSA's and CSA's. Example newsletter goes out on the 15th of very month.
So when I receive notification of a new PSA or CSA I send them a personal introduction letter because they will already see a welcome letter from me. I don't want to overwhelm them with information. the new PSA's and CSA's will spend thier first month doing the launch pad and reading about SFI so I would set them to receive the monthly newsletter for the following month after they sign up. this gives them time to do the launch pad and get comfortable with SFI. Use the genealogy to find out who is non-responsive or who is falling behind and then you could send them some encouragement. make sure the information you send them is useful, to the point and encouraging.
I hope this helps...

When placing classified ads for attracting SFI affiliates, what are the best classifications to use?

Very good question. I know when I see ads that are claiming to be "work at home" opportunities, I always get a little sketchy. I always wonder what the scam is. I think it is important to market SFI effectively. I always use any categories that are entrepreneurial. if that is not available then I classify it as a business opportunity. I shy away from listing it as a work at home program because that part can come later. The most. important part is the opportunity that SFI provides and the hundreds of resources you get for free as a member to build your business. There is also the added benefit of TripleClicks and Pricebenders, which makes SFI a very attractive opportunity. So all in all I would classify SFI as a business opportunity or an entrepreneur resource.

What encouragement can I give to an affiliate who feels he or she is getting nowhere with SFI?

First of all if you don't put in any work you get nothing.
Second where is the affiliate trying to go. The affiliate must first set their goals and plan out what it is they are trying to achieve. if there is no direction then nowhere is where you would end up.
I would take a look at the checklist that is provided by SFI when you click on the affiliate at the bottom there is a checklist that takes you through detailed information about the affiliate. I think this checklist works very well and will help to define what an affiliate is trying to achieve. the checklist also makes sure the sponsor is well involved with helping and supporting the affiliate.
So , to answer the question; the encouragement I would suggest is to
1. Have the affiliate define their goals and what they expect to accomplish with SFI
2. The affiliate should then define their course of action to accomplish their goals with the help of their sponsor if needed.
3. Give the affiliate positive feedback, and support when needed.
4. Keep communication with the affiliate by sending news letters or training that you think would be helpful.
Encouragement should be everything positive to help the affiliate succeed and not give up.

What was your greatest challenge to success in SFI...and how did you overcome it?

My greatest challenge with SFI was overcoming my second month SFI, I wanted to make EA2 and was short less than a 100 points to make EA again. I have the most awesome sponsor, who coached me and talked with me about what my next steps would be if I made EA2 and he gave me such encouragement and is so inspiring. I have not quit since that day. He also told me that a month's time was all I needed to get my SFI businesses going for me (after a little help from him). He was right. I am now in my 9th month with SFI (Silver Team Leader) and I am so grateful. The most important thing is to not quit on yourself or SFI. Read, ask questions, get help you will be happy you did. I wish everyone good luck with SFI. Everyone is different and we will all have different obstacles we will face with this, and we will all deal with it differently. I hope for the positive in everyone's situation and the outcome to be well for them.

How do I convince someone to try SFI when they've had bad experiences previously with online businesses?

I would first point out, that there is no risk for them to try SFI and you don't have to spend a penny if you market correctly. This is not a get rich quick scheme, or any of those other online businesses that make promises that never come true. I think it is all to common where people, see the words affiliate, selling, and so on that make them think that all online business opportunities are the same. It is true that if you would like to see your business grow faster and make more money than you would have to put in an initial investment. I've never seen a restaurant, office, or other business open up with no starting funds. You would need to spend money to make money right. I'm sure there is equipment to buy, start up costs, rent of a business space, etc... Some people will even have to take out a large loan to get their business up and running. SFI is to be taken seriously and good things will come from it, if you are patient and want to learn about it.
