When it comes to communicating with your team, I would stick to the guidelines offered in SFI's training. I would definitely use the downline mailer once a week to offer tips or encouragement, or share some of your own successes for motivation.

Limit "extra" communication to messages of congratulations for affiliates who are achieving, or who have won contests. Absolutely have open and frequent communication with an active affiliate who is asking for help. If you want to promote a contest or have a good tip, or run across a TripleClicks product that you feel would benefit your downline to promote, this is all good communication.

Sending messages every day, and trivial "chit chat" would be unnecessary and excessive. SFI has a forum available for sharing ideas and thoughts, as well as a2a for connecting with other affiliates.

In summary, keep to the guidelines and share once a week. Always present your positive side, share accomplishments and offer tips for success. Congratulate your downline when they achieve, and keep the offer open to provide assistance and support to those affiliates who want more communication.

There is an old saying many are familiar with, that "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink!"

The best thing you could do is to just keep showing your downlines where the "water" is. Stay consistent, positive and encouraging in your communications with them. Use your downline mailer to share your own successes for encouragement as well, for example if you win a Daily Grand drawing, or a Pick The Price contest.

Share with them some tips and links to the SFI pages that offer advice on achieving EA status, ways to promote their own links, and the wide variety of ways they could earn income with SFI and TripleClicks. If you are able to, offer rewards such as a gift certificate for being an active affiliate.

Remain steady in your course and continue to lead by example. You won't be able to make an affiliate become active, but if you continue to present the "water", the ones that are thirsty enough will drink!

Once you have qualified as a Team Leader, you've got to live the part and set an example for your downline that you would like for them to duplicate. Complete all of your daily tasks, and be positive and encouraging in your communications. Remain "visible", and make it clear to your downline that you are willing to help by answering questions, or pointing them in the right direction.

If you would like for your downline to log in daily, earn points and check for updates, you should be doing these same actions. Also, maintain your Leadership page, providing helpful tips and encouragement there as well. If you are able to, have contests with prizes to reward your active affiliates. Be sure to acknowledge your affiliates for their successes, or if you see they have won a contest prize.

Be able to provide your downline with the information they need to become successful. If they have questions that you are unsure of, refer them to the proper areas in SFI such as the forum, or Basics, or Launchpad lessons to find the answers (and study the answer yourself for future reference!).

Develop and encourage your "Movers" by sharing with them the methods you use to obtain and maintain your Team Leader status. Your success will be determined by your actions and by having a positive belief in the SFI system, and this will be evident to your downline.

The Power of your business and range of your success will come from finding like-minded people, and by being a good leader, developing these people to duplicate your results and become good leaders themselves.

There would be several ways one could offer encouragement. I think the biggest selling point to them would be the sheer numbers of SFI affiliates and TripleClicks members.

I would invite them to review the SFI site, especially the "Growth" tab. New members are joining every 20-30 seconds! That's a new potential set of customer's eyes every 20-30 seconds, as well as being another person that may connect with that ECA and help promote their products as an affiliate. It would also help to remind the ECA that there are now over 2 Million TripleClicks members...so literally millions of potential customers!

They say "the proof is in the pudding", so another helpful idea would be to connect that ECA with other ECA's who are having success with their businesses, and share results and ideas. Remind them of the benefits of selling their items through the ECA program versus other online stores which can have high seller's fees, and no affiliates working "for" them to help promote their products.

Finally, you could offer to personally help promote their products by sharing your personal links to their store, a win-win situation for all! Remind the ECA's that there is no risk involved, it's free to list...so the only thing they would lose by not being active is...SALES!

There are several factors that will determine an affiliate's success in SFI and how quickly they proceed. Thousands of new affiliates join every day from all over the world!
Some of the factors that have an effect on one's success are as follows:

1. Level of understanding of internet marketing

2. The amount of time one can invest

3. The amount of money one can invest in their business

4. The availability of resources in particular countries

5. The example and leadership of one's upline

6. The ability to follow simple instructions, and duplicate successful models

People join with all levels of experience and expectations. Many have an unrealistic view that you can join a program and get rich quick with no effort on their part. These people will not find success. You have to market your business to grow, and you have to have a vision and goal of what you want to achieve. SFI provides good training on how it all works in the "Basics" and "Launchpad" lessons.

The amount of time one has to spend on building their business can make a difference on how fast they progress. I am lucky enough to be a full time internet marketer, while some may only have an hour or two daily to devote because they have other job or time commitments. The key to succeed here is to make an effort to log in daily and at least earn their daily points.

Money does play a factor. The more one has to invest, the quicker that individual will reach certain levels of achievement in SFI. It is possible to achieve EA status without spending a lot of money, but is becomes more difficult to earn points and will take time to grow your business. A successful affiliate will invest more as they earn more.

Some factors are just beyond one's control. It is a fact that internet access, or availability of various payment processors is limited in different countries. These individuals have to adapt and overcome the obstacles!

Much will depend on communication with one's upline! Someone who is supportive, knowledgeable of their business, will lead by example and be consistently encouraging will have a more successful downline. An individual that pays attention and duplicates successful methods will achieve results much faster.

Overall, one's desire to succeed, and ability and willingness to set goals will determine their outcome. Those that want it badly enough, and take time to understand how the process works will succeed more quickly, because they believe it will happen for them! Some take longer to figure it out, have less time or money to invest, but never give up eventually reaching their goals. Either way SFI provides an excellent platform and opportunity, and all the tools one needs. It's up to the individual to make it happen!

Persistence and Consistency are The Key to Success in Network Marketing! You must stay positive, because each “No” is one step closer to a Yes!

It's also necessary to recognize the math of Multi-Level Marketing. It is most definitely a numbers game. Pockets of activity, a few here and there will generate your income. This is a great lesson taught to us by a very successful marketer Bill Britt. He was a network marketing pioneer.

Some years ago, 20/20 did feature story on Amway and Bill Britt. The story spent 19 minutes interviewing whiners & complainers - distributors who had failed. They showed garages full of products they couldn't sell.

During the last minute of the show, Britt was interviewed in front of his palatial home. He was asked "This business has obviously worked for you. What's your secret?" He replied "There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said 'No' and only 300 signed up. Out of those 300, only 85 did anything at all. Out of those 85, only 35 were serious. Out of those 35, 11 made me a millionaire." Bill worked through the numbers.

So you see, out of 1200 people, it was only 11 people who were active, and paid attention to following a successful role model, that made Bill Britt a millionaire. In this business, "No" and rejection and quitters are simply a part of the journey. Be persistent and consistent in your efforts, and visualize your outcome. Stay focused, and you will find that handful of motivated and like-minded people that will duplicate your efforts to bring about success. Lead by example, and Never give up!

I am not the original person to coin this phrase, but many successful online marketers use it- "Simplicity + Duplication = Results"! This is quite true. So how does one get their downline involved?

Firstly and most important would be the example you set yourself. Are you in contact with successful role models in your own upline, and are you following their examples or suggestions to build your own successful business?

Communication, encouragement and leading by example are the best things you can do to motivate your downline. Share with them the methods that bring you successful results, and maybe even inform them of ways NOT to go about it so they don't waste their time. Also share with them what is realistic to expect for results. Honesty, persistence and consistency will go a long way.

Finally, if you are able to, develop some sort of reward system with your downline like T-Credits or gift cards for actions that duplicate your own, such as logging in every day and earning 11 points from their To-Do list for a month. Remind them that following simple rules and instructions that are already tried and true by successful marketers, will bring them results in proportion to their efforts.

There are quite a few ways to reach out and build your business by referring new ECA's. As internet marketers, of course one of the first ways we can reach out is by sharing your affiliate link with a well written ad on as many safelist mailers and Text Ad exchanges as you can. Solo ads to large numbers of people would be most effective.

Another good idea would be to share your link as a business opportunity in as many classified ad sites as you can. There are many, many free classified ad sites, and some will run your ad for up to a year without having to renew. There are also a huge number of mailers and TAE's that you can use as a free member. So for these first two methods, the only thing you would have to invest is your time.

The very best way to contact prospective ECA's would be through direct contact marketing. SFI provides many tools to help you with this method. You could start by searching online for local businesses in your area, then you can either contact them by phone, or personally deliver or send them one of SFI's beautifully done postcards or business cards with the ECA program details and your affiliate link. Specialty businesses unique to your part of the world, or small business owners looking to expand their reach would make great prospects.

It would be a good idea to explore your town or city's center square, or uptown area with plenty of ECA cards in hand, and personally introduce yourself to business owners in your area. One can usually find many unique shops and specialty stores on the "main drag".

When in doubt, simply refer to SFI's marketing resources and guides. It is designed to help you build your business every step of the way!
