Hello, to me i don not really see time as a factor or see it as so important. I belief you joint SFI because you were looking for an additional income source, now that you have gotten one, which is quite easy to go about, why not devote some time in achieving your goal.
So to me it depends on how bad you need this additional income, the more you need it, then the more effective you will in allocating time each day on it.
Do you like SFI, do you see it producing the results you have been looking for? then create time for it.

From my own point of view, i will handle your question from Revelation knowledge, that is from the bible, You know a prophet is never welcome or appreciated in his own home or familly.
From my expirience, the best way to totally gain the confidence of your familly is leading by example, if you will show prove of sucess with your business, then you can involve your familly.

For me , the only way to handle rejection on this matter is proving to that person the contrary, that is to say show him how you are making progress.
I bet you before you will realize, they will came asking you about your progress, and there you will be the king!!!!
