Unfortunately, there are a lot of tire kickers out there looking for the "get rich quick". Maybe one day they will realize that there is no such thing. the only way to make a business grow, is to put time into it.
That being said, you can only do so much. Lead by example, stay in contact and if you have some that you see are trying, give them a little incentive (re: TC's, share in your co-op...)
I wish there was some magic that we could show these tire kickers that with a little work, they could have a long term business that will carry them for years.
Don't worry about the one's that are looking for that pot of gold, concentrate on the few who see the potential of SFI and work with them.

What advice would you give to an SFI affiliate who wants to create and maintain their own SFI website?

I would certainly encourage my affiliate if they wanted to open their own website.
But with all the tools that SFI offers, I don't see the need, and your own website is a lot of work and expense.
But if they have the time, money and know how, by all means. And if they wanted their own website, to me, this is saying, they know what they're doing and this could bring in massive downline and sales.
So, basically, why would you tell an affiliate not to?
What are the best methods for distributing TCards to the public and getting results?

Distributing Gift Cards to the public is really quite easy.
You can leave them with your tip at a restaurant. Coffee houses, gas stations, grocery stores, just about anywhere you may go, you can hand out a gift card. Banks, Post Office, if you have a local business, you can ask them to hand them out.
We have a small natural food store in our town and they'll hand them out. Be imaginative, think outside the box and your distribution will be endless.
