SFI is a great opportunity for anybody. As for students, SFI has no start-up costs. If you are able to attract people via word of mouth and sign them up, then you can build your business absolutely free. There are no products that you have to stock up on and sell like most other home based MLM businesses.

Also, SFI has a plethora of training modules. They basically hold your hand and take you through building your business step by step. There are plenty of affiliates, both in your up line and A2A that offer support, encouragement and advice for those of us who are just beginning.

Even if you have no marketing skills, no business skills and no experience with running a business you can be successful with SFI.

You just have to learn everything you can about the business. I know it has been said thousands of times but I have to reiterate. Visit the SFI Basics and follow the steps there.

After you have a downline started, just share with them what you have done to build your business. Let them know how you were able to get those signups. Tell them the things that you have accomplished.

Instead of looking at it as being a leader, look at it as being their mentor. Let them know the mistakes you have made so they will not do the same. Just set the path for them to follow and hopefully they will.

My greatest challenge was maintaining EA status after that first month. I could not generate enough Action VPs and I could not afford a standing order or any purchase. I was stuck for several months. Honestly, I put aside some money from my tax refund and set up a standing order (almost one year after signing up). Then I realized that some of the products that I use everyday, I could start buying from myself. I mean, we all use dishwashing liquid, right? Body wash and shampoo could be purchased from TripleClicks.

After reassessing my situation, I realized that I could afford to make purchases. I just needed to stop giving Walmart, Walgreens, CVS etc, my money and start buying from myself. I am still in the process of transferring my purchasing from those other retailers to myself.

I have tried other home based (MLM) businesses with no success. I compare and contrast SFI to the others that I have tried. First, I did a lot of reading about SFI and even went on the Better Business Bureau website and did a search to verify that they were indeed registered with them and checked out their rating with BBB.

I stress to them that SFI never requires affiliates to pay anything ever. I let them know that unlike other companies, affiliates do not have to purchase and sell any products nor is there a requirement to make a minimum monthly purchase. I tell them about the free training and the support that you receive from your upline. I also tell them about S-Builder.

I let them know that SFI offers so much more support for their downline and they also actually help you to build your downline (via free CSAs every month).

If that does not convince them to join, maybe when they see how much success you have with this company, they will reconsider and give it a try.

I have the same problem as you. Although I am outgoing, I am not very comfortable with sales pitches. To overcome this, I started telling some of my family members about the business aspect of SFI. I also mentioned the PennyAuctions and told how much some of the winner paid for the item they won in the auction.

I also started talking to my coworkers about it. When someone speaks about retiring or leaving the company, I take the opportunity to tell them my plans for leaving the company. I tell them I started a home based business and tell them about the opportunity at SFI.

Although I have not signed any of them up yet, I have piqued their interest. They ask me how the business is going and I tell them about it.

Basically, my advice is to start with your family and friends by working either Tripleclicks or SFI in casually. Eventually, they will be curious and start asking you about the opportunity. After you get comfortable talking to your family about it, then talking to random people with become second nature.

Affiliates should not try to do too much too fast. SFI gives new affiliates plenty of opportunities to learn the business and earn enough VPs to become an EA in the first month. New affiliates should focus on the Daily To Do list and Launchpad lessons. Actually read and comprehend the lessons given to them. They go through the articles on the training tab and learn everything they can about SFI. Once they have the solid foundation, then they can start to build a successful business.

Since we are working with human beings, unfortunately we cannot assure anything. When we develop our downline, its a combination of luck of the draw and training. Some people, by nature are just lazy and are looking for a quick buck. They sign up, realize that this is not a get rich quick scheme and become inactive. We cannot do anything about these type of people. Now, other people are willing to work. They are self motivators and need little to no guidance. They will log in regularly, do their tasks, sponsor others etc. The majority of the human population fall somewhere in between the two extremes listed above. They will work and do what they need to, but they need a little push. They may be skeptical about the business or they just do not know where to start. This part of the business is the luck of the draw. Unless you know the affiliate personally, you have no idea of which type a person a signup is, until they actually sign up.

This is where training comes in. Lead by example. This is the most important thing. We have do the things that we want our PSAs doing. We have to log in daily. We have to have a standing order. We have achieve and maintain EA status (at minimum).

As to get our teams to duplicate, we have to keep in contact with them. Use the PSA and CSA mailer regularly but not too often. If you notice that someone has not been active, send them a e card or an email message to encourage them or just to let them know that you are available to help them. Acknowledge the achievements of your team members.

Although you cannot guarantee that someone will work, you can give them the tools that they need. They just have to make the choice to use them. Remember the saying, you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink.
