Hello,
First of all, I want you to know that everyone is born with a potential to be a leader. So no one is "not born to be a leader". However, many people grew up under situations and circumstances that have made them develop fear and therefore the belief that they were not born as leaders.
So what do you need to do?
First of all, you need a re-orientation about your innate potentials as a leader by reading the right leadership books.
Now coming to SFI, being a Team Leader here is pretty much easy. In fact, from the moment you achieve your first EA status, you become a leader...
1. Acquire as much Versa points you need for the leadership rank you want to attain.
2. Learn how to be a good leader from your sponsor or co-sponsor. If that is not forthcoming, then learn tips from your a2a friends.
3. Be a people-minded person. That is, be interested in the success of not just yourself, but also that of all the members of your team (both active and inactive).
4. Support them with gifts and praises for their achievements.
Now I don't think that is difficult right?
You can do it. Believe in yourself.

First of all I must say that there is no formula for knowing if an affiliate is going to be a good one as success in this business is a function of every individual's personal conviction about the business.
But the following may help to predict that the affiliate will probably be a good one.
1) A new affiliate who shows interest in the business so much that they are willing to ask you questions from time to time
2) An affiliate who follows their sponsor's or co-sponsor's instructions and tips
3) That affiliate must also be someone who has a strong understanding of the fact that you cannot make money without spending money; someone who is not expecting a cheap means of making money.

PS: Let me just add that it is very important for the sponsor to always be available to help. I became convinced about doing SFI not just because of the advert that brought me here, but also because of the timely support I got from my sponsor. So we all must learn to be good sponsors and co-sponsors.
