I live in Africa. How can I become successful in SFI?

Hi Aaron,
living in Africa should not set you back,I also live in Africa and internet technology is now becoming a norm,the only problem is we use it for social interaction rather than for business. To be a success you need to persevere and utilise the social media to your advantage now that you know you can do business through it,let it be a means of introducing your friends to SFI.
First you need to be determined and follow it up with actions by visiting your page daily,set up a standing order,make use of the to do list on your homepage and ensure you earn as much VP as possible daily.

What's more important--the initial contact with a prospect or the follow-up, and why?

Every success starts with effort,every effort is preceded by an action and every action needs completion to translates to the desired outcome.On this premise,you can not rate any of these:effort,action, action completion and success as more important than the other because without one the other will not be.
To answer your question,which is more important initial contact or follow up with prospect,i will say they are equally important because without the initial contact,no follow up ensues and without follow up then initial contact becomes a wasted effort.For a prospect to translate to the desired outcome which is the success both has to be pursued with vigour and passion till it yields the expected outcome.

How many hours a week do I need to devote to SFI to become successful?

To be successful depends on what you do with the little time you are on and how much VP you are able to generate.I will say,this is dependent on individual as there is no one answer to being successful when it comes to time spend on SFI.
It takes less than 20mins to earn 10VP from the red-tabs daily,you spend more time if you partake in auctions,so will suggest maximizing your time with earning of as much VP as possible on a daily basis,so the bottom line for me,you need time as much as you can give for as long as it is maximize to the fullest.

How do you make SFI not be overwhelming for yourself and team members?

First step in any task is to make a concrete plan,carry those to execute it along,be constantly there to encourage and stimulate so as to avert people feeling undue pressure,then appreciate every effort made by all and commend as appropriate.
SFI is a team effort and to make a team work,make everyone part of the team and value their contribution even when you think it is not or turns out not to be beneficial and finally responsibility is collective,avoid finger pointing rather pull up those falling by the wayside and give a push so all can get to the finishing line.
With these,every member looks forward to the next menu on the agenda.

How do you use SFIM (SFI Instant Messaging) to communicate with your team...and what are your best tips for this?

Like any other instant messenger, I use the SFI messenger as a tool to keep my abreast with my team with tips and words of encouragement. My best way of using it is to ensure that most of m team or at least three quarter are on then I send a message that will stimulate interaction as a way of encouraging a free flow discussion or chat.
I try to have a topic or message that will move you to want to chip in something for example, ever wonder what you can do to win on TripleClicks Pricebender auctions?
