I would recomend motivational books. My favorite author is Robert Kiyosaki who wrote:

1. Rich Dad, Poor Dad
2. The Cashflow quadrant
3. Buisness school
4. Rich Dad´s guide to investing

and others.

5, I also would recomend you to read Dale Carnegié's book: "How to make friends and influence people"

6. Stephen Covey: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
7. "Secrets of the millionair mind" by T. Harv Eker
8.

Not having goals is like getting into a car without knowing which direction to take or an air ticket without destination. If you want to know where you're going to get, you have to know which direction to take. Every business sets its goals in the short, medium and long term. If goals are not achieved, strategies must be changed. The important thing is that these goals must have dates and be realistic.

Why do so many people join SFI and then do nothing...and what should I do about this?

This is a good question but the problem is not only in SFI. In any MLM there are a lot of people (the most) who do nothing. I would recommend to be honest with your affiliates and to tell them that this is not a way of making quick money. It takes patience, but most of all perseverance and time will come to see the fruits. Keep in mind that for every 30 members, one is really going to do the business. Work with him and do not focus on the other 29. Let them go at their own pace.

What should a new SFI affiliate focus on to ensure a good financial return in their first month?

Let me answer you with a nice story which I write to my affiliates and which will respond your question. The title of the story is : The Japanese Bamboo

Thought: Japanese Bamboo

You don´t have to be a farmer to know that a good harvest requires good seed, good fertilizer and watering.

It is also obvious that those who cultivate the land do not stand impatient in front of the sown seed and shouts with all his might: "Grow up, damn you!" ...

This is a normal thinking for an employee mind. He must think that he is now a buisness owner and every buisness owner "outside" normaly has a lot of expenses before he get revenue. In our buisness there are no expenses and he should be happy to get some commisions. I started on august 18th and my first commision were $0.87 !!!. Even a baby takes 9 monthes to be born.
