Should I advise new PSAs to slow down and not qualify as Team Leaders so quickly?

The answer to this question is yes. This is because the process that brought one to team leadership is the process that will sustain it. When an affiliate shoots up to team leadership by investing some fund, he/she is required to maintain that rank or over monthly. When budget becomes critical, it becomes impossible to retain that position and you see them throwing in the towel. In this business, building a team is important. When you have 5 or more active affiliates who attains the rank of EA2, your position as a BTl is secured. You get 500AVP from them and the other 500AVP from the daily, weekly and monthly actions. When they rose to BTL having their own EA2, you become a GTL with cash to make the adequate SVP. This is the way to go and the option I follow.

How can you determine what TripleClicks product(s) a person might be interested in?

If you have access to their receipts of purchases, check out the frequency of items bought per week or month. That will give you a working knowledge of what that prospect is spending money on. If you don't have such access, then preparing a questionnaire about some tripleclicks products and passing it to your prospects or members of the public will also give you this idea. Otherwise try a direct question: hello Mr so and so, what tripleclicks products appeal to you the most? Or armed with a brochures of tripleclicks products, hand it over and say, " please go over these products and tell me which of them you'd like to buy regularly?

When starting out in SFI, is it better to invest in advertising or in an EA-qualifying purchase?

This depends on your level of expertise in advertising at the point of joining SFI. If you're a newbie, then concentrating on EA-qualifying purchase is in order while learning the ad ropes. If a veteran, a result oriented advertisement should be pursued if it will guarantee generating enough to maintain your rank and build your team.
Is it worthwhile to send individual welcome letters to new PSAs...or can I just send out group mailings?

You may notice that it's an uphill task and time consuming to reach out to your new PSAs individually especially when they number in their hundreds but that is the part of the awesome sponsor. However, I am of the opinion that a group email can be sent to them initially then followed by individual followup emails since at this juncture you would have noticed different levels of performance by the affiliates and so the need to assist them according to their differing challenges.

DOs
a. List your products
b. Properly describe your products the best you can.
c. Connect with other ECAs and Afilliates.
d. Thank those that are connected with you.
e. Advertise your products in social media
f. Ensure that supply costs to other countries have been determined.
g. Your arrangement with a drop shipper or personal shipment details are rock solid.
h. Adequate stock of products you're promoting.
DON'Ts
Not doing the DOs listed above should be avoided.

It will also depend on the amount of time you have at your disposal. To determine beforehand good spots to advertise, entails extensive research. What have worked for one may not work for another. Know the sites through the search engines, successful affiliate marketers and online marketing consultants.
Its not going to be an easy task but we have spots that generates high traffic. Offline however, the parks, airport terminals, bus stations, railways, markets, shopping malls are examples of such spots. Go where the people are.

The elderly, employees, about-to-retire etc choose the appropriate banners, text ads and products that will meet the needs of your target audience.

When a person joins SFI, what things are the most important for him or her to do?

The get started action marked with green planes for fast track are the best place or most important things for them to do that is, setting their goals, affiliate profile, white listing sfis emails, up line members etc, confirming their emails and so on.
The next important thing is reading and studying all about the business, the rules, objectives and the training.
