Is it better to promote SFI to friends and family...or to strangers?

When you first start SFI I think it is best to promote to strangers because that gives you a chance to learn and not worry about falling on your rear end. If you get a negative reaction from a stranger and they say something rude guess what it doesn't hurt as much because they don't know you and besides that you will never see them again. Friends and family are the opposite because if something goes wrong well you may lose credibility and trust, and also these are people that know you and you know them so you will keep on seeing them.
When you advertise to friends and family the first thing they will ask is if you are making money, you tell them the truth, you tell them that you just started and that you are trying the business out for free and that you are trying to find out the potentials and how to make money on it and that you are inviting them to give it a try and if it doesn't work for them then they can quit anytime and have nothing to lose.
I mostly promote to strangers and I feel more comfortable doing it online because I fun surfing at the traffic exchanges and I feel relaxed because I don't have to worry about people giving me dirty looks, or I don't have to see how people react because I post my websites, texts and banners and then I assign the credits to see how much traffic I get and I also start earning money.
So this is my message, use strangers for practice and the family members for perfecting what you have learned.
:) so smile, relax and make advertising FUN!!! Also use advertising to make money!!!!

What is the best way to start building your SFI team?

When you and other affiliates talk about building a team the focus seems to be mainly on Sponsoring SFI affiliates because Matching VP equals higher commissions from the matching shares from the TripleClicks Executive Pool.
Do not overlook the benefits of co sponsoring affiliates as well, for your information this also earns VersaPoints matching, I know this not just from reading the SFI basics and the Compensation Plan but from three years of personal experience as an SFI affiliate. It took me more than a year to get two active CSA' s I probably got them from maintaining my Executive Affiliate Status every month and got them from my monthly allotment of 2 or I got them from the Home CSA's after becoming a Bronze team leader so I got VersaPoints matching from these two for many months before getting PSA's then a few months ago I got another active CSA from the second Home CSA I think this happened when I became a silver team leader.
The best way to build a Team is to co sponsor affiliates because it will allow you to earn more shares from the Executive Pool while you are in the process of learning how to Sponsor affiliates by this I mean that you should take the time to visit the marketing center to review the Sponsoring methods from beginner to advanced. So the Trick is to accumulate enough action VP from the to do list and place a 2000 VP Standing Order to maintain Bronze team leader every month so that CSA's flow into your genealogy every month for free so this will earn you VP matching while you learn to Sponsor PSA's.
Honestly I am not going to give you a list of things to read in the affiliate center because other affiliates have already done that and I think you have been an affiliate long enough to know what training materials are available.
I will give you this important advice however: Print out The LaunchPad, the article" How to be an awesome Sponsor" and "ThePlan".
I hope this simple answer helps you.

What is your most successful way to market while you're out and about?

Use your Car as a marketing tool by using the car magnets SFI provides in the marketing center, and you should also buy some wearables such as clothing, watches etc...
Have you ever thought of phone marketing? I was just looking in the marketing center here on SFI and I saw that they have phone scripts, you may be out and about but I assume that you have a cellphone so you can use that to call and advertise and give out your affiliate link. For the Car magnets and wearables you have to carry business cards or print out flyers on small pieces of paper to give out.
Advertising by mail is also an option because Tripleclicks sells letter heads and envelopes with the TC logo on it so you can use it to write professional business letters and then you can add brochures in the envelopes and drop them in the mailbox.
There is one advertising tool that is 100% free and that is your own mouth, I mean you are out and about so you must have allot of people that you socialize with so you can talk about SFI and TC but I wouldn't make it sound like an advertisment instead I would tell them stories about my personal experiences with SFI, and how I make money etc... the point is to make them curious so that they want to find out more so that is the time to give them your link.
So that is all I can think of.

The first thing you tell people is that SFI stands for Strong Future International next you tell them that this is a program for people who want to make money either as a Commercial Vendor looking to sell their products online and/or as an affiliate.
Everyone knows what a vendor is but those who do not know what it is to be an affiliate then you briefly explain to them what affiliate marketing is. Tell them that affiliate marketing is about promoting a website or a company belonging to a vendor that sells specific products or services in order to generate sales revenue and then the vendor will pay an affiliate a percentage(Commission).
Then you introduce people to the corporation Carson Services Inc. and the owner Gery Carson. Don't go into so many details because the Getting started articles talks about that.
Tell them about the TripleClicks Store because that is the source of income where they need to generate sales in order to get paid commissions, and then tell them the beauty part: The sign up is FREE along with the training, and advertising materials etc...
The point is that when people ask you about SFI do not make them dizzy with too many detail just give them something informative but straight to the point.

What do you do with affiliates who never do anything--despite your constant encouragement and offers of support?

The answer to your question is in the rules of success https://www.sfimg.com/ROS/ROSWorkWithWorkers and the Lauchpad day 16 lesson titled "The Big Funnel" https://www.sfimg.com/LaunchPad/Day16.
They both tell you not to waste your time on these people because they are called "Tire Kickers" and part of sponsoring affiliates is like having a big funnel. You will get lots of affiliates who are not active, and hardly ever sign in at all. Every month you must always get in touch with them but you must always continue sponsoring and sooner or later like the small end of the funnel you will get a few hardworking affiliates, so those are the ones you should have on your team the rest who do not work don't even bother with them. Successful people are the affiliates who want to succeed without you having to constantly encourage them because they are already motivated, look at me, I have a sponsor who never talks to me but I am motivated and I am much more successful than when I first started. To answer your question on what should you do you must continue advertising to get more affiliates and then you must always check your genealogy to see which ones are the workers, check their VP legder to see how much they have been doing and see how often they log in then you will know which ones you will work with . Please do not continue wasting your time with affiliates that don't do anything, because no matter what you do they will not succeed because they are not doing the work.

When placing classified ads for attracting SFI affiliates, what are the best classifications to use?

The best category in the classifieds is "Business Opportunity" because SFI is about Starting your own business. Some classified sites offer subcategories such as Internet business, affiliate marketing, working from home. I have seen SFI ads being placed under " Work from Home" Affiliate Marketing, etc.... Categories are about targeting the right people by letting them know about SFI marketing group and letting them know that they can start their own business online without worrying about investing money. The objective of the categories I mentioned above is to recruit people who want to try something out for free. So in the classified ads always look for "business opportunity" I also find the right category when I type SFI or Tripleclicks in the Search engine of that particular website, in order to see ads posted by my fellow affiliates and then I see in which categories they are placed so that I too can place accordingly.

What do you say to your affiliates who are disappointed about being knocked out of the E365 competition?

Motivational videos on YouTube come in handy when an affiliate feels sad in general not just for being knocked out of 365 but any bad experience in failing an achievement or not reaching the desired goal.
When I first signed up for SFI my first disappointment was not being able to achieve fast track in 2012 but guess what two years later in 2014 I log into my affiliate center I felt a pleasant surprise when I saw my Silver Fast Track badge with the airplane next to it. Then I read the news in the alerts tab about the new fast Track program Then in minutes my silver badge changed to gold because of my Standing order.
I know how disappointment feels like because I made it to the E365 finals but did not win the championship so I emailed my co sponsor and he showed me a motivational video about an Australian man who was born without arms or legs but his story is such an inspiration.
So I have read answers to this question as I was rating that failure is an opportunity for a bigger and better achievement that lies up ahead. The best encouragement is to teach them how to use failure as a form of learning and if they focus on the achievements that lie up ahead they will succeed.
The proof is in my Fast Track achievement, I didn't give up when I missed it the first time so my persistence was rewarded.
So who knows what new changes will come with the E365 Contest? I may even win that one later on.
So this is a personal experience I can share with my affiliates.

What are the best FREE methods for attracting and sponsoring new affiliates?

The best advertising resources are online because the only offline resource that is free is your own mouth, all the other offline materials that SFI provides require purchasing on Tripleclicks or require spending money on printing such as ink cartridges, printers, or paying someone to print flyers for you.
Online you can advertise to larger numbers of people than the offline methods, and also online you can advertise on autopilot.
In my opinion the best online methods are Social book marking sites and blogging, because here you can connect with lots of people by creating your own fanpages and then using them to collect email addresses and build a mailing list and use it to go viral! I mean you use your emailing list to advertise SFI, on you fanpage you can post pictures that you can use for advertising such as your first SFI paycheck, your E365 plaque if you win the championship etc.. the point is that any of your SFI achievements you can share on your fanpage which is a form of advertising and on it you can post your share it postings that SFI gives you.
Your own website or blog is one of the best because you can add the banners that SFI provides for advertising and get 100 Versapoints for adding one of them. Ok your own website is free because you create it yourself. On this you can also build an emailing list because you add a section where people can contact you and subscribe to your newsletters so the point is do you see all the advertising opportunities here?
ECards are also my favorite because they have pictures as opposed to an email, also here you get more attention by saying only a few words or sentences that can grab attention and curiosity to the readers making them want to click your link and read more. Use this wisely because you can get in trouble for spamming.

What should an affiliate do if their sponsor is non-responsive?

I understand you because I have the exact same problem so I emailed support here on SFI and they gave me two choices, one is to email my sponsor and ask to be reassigned to another sponsor, that means you have to give the affiliate id number to the person you want for a sponsor. The second choice that Gery does not recommend is to opt out of SFI, or cancel your membership and then wait six months before you register again under a new sponsor. For more details read this article https://www.sfimg.com/Reference/AskGery050407
I recommend just relying on the upline team members that are active and do respond to you in my case I rely allot on my co sponsor, who has been there for me from the beginning, and I also get advice from a few a2a friends, but honestly you really do not need a sponsor to succeed.
A tree that is not catered to hand and food grow up to be the biggest and strongest of all because since they were seeds they learn to lengthen their roots so that they can tap into the nutrients deep down in the soil. In your case and mine we will just have to do the same thing, because our sponsors are not going to cater to us so we too must lengthen our roots, until we hit the water and find our own food. Without much help we learn to dig deeper into SFI so we can find the hidden treasures.
I wish you lots of success.

How important is it to have a good sponsor and co-sponsor?
Elizabeth Freites, Aff (New york, US)

A Sponsor and Co Sponsor are your tour guides in the SFI affiliate center, they point you to the Basics and show you the to do list in order for you to know where to work from to get the highest points possible everyday.
When you first signed up how did you feel? Did you know exactly where to begin or did your Sponsor have to tell you? See where I am going? Most people are lost they wander around the affiliate center without understanding what they are looking at so that is why a Sponsor is crucial because a tour Guide tells you how this program works.
Did you read the Rules of Success? If not then you should because being a good Sponsor and Co Sponsor is one of the rules mentioned because you only succeed when your affiliates do. So if your Sponsor and Co sponsor want to succeed it is their duty to teach and point out the way.
When you walk in a dark room you can't see where you are going so you need to have a flashlight ???? to keep you from stumbling and to allow you to see if you are on the right path.
This is very important to bear in mind: A sponsor can only show you the path and guide you by showing you the right direction but you must walk on your own two feet! You cannot expect them to carry you on their back like a sack of potatoes ???? this means that if you want to succeed you have to do the work of reading, studying and doing the activities that are on your to do list, a Sponsor can only teach you how but will not do this for you.
I hope that this answer is to your satisfaction.
