Leadership is not a natural ability that people are born with. Rather, it is a skill that can be acquired and developed.

Leadership starts with desire... to learn, to teach, to lead, to be an example. And while leadership starts with desire, I feel the most important aspect of true leadership is taking action.

You can read and study everything you can find on becoming a strong and effective leader, but all that reading and studying is useless unless you are willing to act upon that which you have learned.

In SFI, one of the best ways to demonstrate a willingness to take action is to do the tasks from your to-do list every day. Not only will you earn versapoints for doing so, but as long as you are earning at least 10 versapoints a day, you will earn the Daily VersaPoints badge, which is visible on your profile page, which demonstrates to your team that you are active in working your business.

Two very important qualities you will want to develop is being consistent and persistent. Being consistent, while boring at times, is important if you want to build and develop a strong team of affiliates and have them duplicate what you are doing. And being persistent will allow you to carry on despite any challenges or obstacles that might come your way.

One final note, and this is only an opinion, but I feel that you have already demonstrated one of the most critical and important qualities of a true and genuine leader: humility. A humble leader knows that they do not always have all the answers, but they do know where to go or who to ask to get the answers that they seek.

The best way to "assure" duplication is to become a true leader in your business. You want to be that person who leads by example, who builds and nurtures a reputation of being the kind of person who others will naturally want to follow.

How do you become such a leader? You must first and foremost be an example for your team. Do the things you would have your team do, read the things you would have your team read.

For example, if you instruct your team members to read, study, ponder and then act upon the SFI LaunchPad series, then be sure that you have done so first. For a true leader is someone who nurtures and supports his team and so when they come to you asking for help, clarification or understanding, you are able to readily support them and thereby assure that they are duplicating what you have done yourself.

The quick and simple answer to your question is yes and no.

The only aspect of your SFI business that you should ever consider automating is your marketing. There are many free and cost-based tools that will allow you to do this. Many of the safelists and text ad networks will allow you to upload your ad and then, provided you have sufficient credits in your account, will automatically repost your ad. There are even automated macro scripts that you can use to log in to your various marketing accounts, post your ad and log out again. But that's it. That's as far as any "automation" effort should ever go.

Why???

Because SFI is very much a hands-on business. You are building a team of real people. You are supporting real people in your team. And people have the inherent need and desire to work with people... not robots.

To truly excel and succeed in your SFI business, then you need to work your to-do list every day, read everything that SFI has to offer, starting with such things as the SFI Basics, the Rules of Success, the SFI LaunchPad series and SFI's exclusive Internet Income course.

You cannot expect to grow a loyal, consistent and persistent team unless you are willing to read, learn, do and then teach what you have read, learned and done.

Hello and thank you for asking this very interesting question.

In my opinion and experience, I can’t really say that there is any one thing that can be said to be overrated by SFI.

I have seen many answers on here that claim for logging in daily and doing your daily tasks to be the most overrated activity, yet this is a standpoint that I disagree with. Again, this is just my opinion, but here is why, which also ties in with what I feel to be one of the most underrated activity, which I will explain below.

The reason that I disagree with the stance of daily log-ins and doing your daily tasks is from the aspect of making yourself duplicable and being an example to your downline. If you are not at least taking the 5 to 10 minutes that is required to log in and review your red tabs each day, how can you expect your downline to do the same? It is all about setting an example that your downline members would be inclined to follow.

As I said, this reflection ties in with what I feel to be SFI’s most underrated activity… underrated by SFI affiliates, not SFI. Again based upon my opinion, experience and observations, the most underrated activity I feel is recruiting, sponsoring and being duplicable. Yes, I know those are three things, but they are strongly tied, each to the other.

Recruiting, as we should all know, is getting the word out about your SFI business, introducing the opportunity to friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances, etc. If you never introduce the SFI business opportunity to others, then you won’t get very far, given the best, most lasting success with SFI is found through residual income, which means building a downline of active affiliates.

Sponsoring, I feel, is more akin to mentoring and teaching. Once we have discovered those individuals who are eager to start their own home-based business and have enrolled as your personal affiliates, what then? Do you just walk away and leave them to fend for themselves? No, you would coach, mentor and lead them so they too can experience success with their new SFI business.

Making yourself duplicable again should be something that would be obvious to all of us. Being duplicable is one of the most important aspects of being a team leader with SFI. As stated above, how can we expect any of our downline members to do or complete certain tasks if we ourselves are not doing or have not completed those same tasks? Being a leader is about being an example that others will naturally want to follow.

I know this is an opinion based question, and so I hope that my opinions offered here are able to be of some use to you.

First and foremost, it is important for us to remember that SFI is a business... our business. By taking part in SFI's affiliate program, we are invoking the right to call ourselves business owners.

As with any business, we set goals to achieve and have a plan in place to achieve those goals. Part of that part typically involves having a system by which we measure our progress. As we achieve our goals, we feel a sense of accomplishment.

By encouraging our team members to take on leadership roles, we are first giving them a specific goal to work towards and then granting them that sense of accomplishment when they achieve that goal.

I do feel it important though to point out that we should not "push" our team too fast or hard. Have them build a team first and then teach them the benefits of advancing to the role of a team leader.
