Obviously the best way to help the affiliate would be face to face but that is not always possible in this worldwide marketplace. One way I've tried recently is to reassign PSA's to under some of my more active affiliates. Ideally, these will put people of specific regions together and it has the added benefit of rewarding the active affiliate.

Your first idea might be to use the text ads in the classified section of the newspaper, but why should you be limited with the text? Why couldn't you put a banner or graphical ad into a news paper and buy a placement anywhere in the periodical.

For instance, wouldn't it be a good idea to place a nice graphic ad with your gateway link right on the same page as business news? That would be targeted and I imagine such a placement would bring a very nice return on fresh affiliates.

I think when many people look at their scoreboard tab, their eyes are drawn mostly to the direct commissions line. That number is usually the largest to begin with. (Actually, the second home CSA estimate could be larger if the person is a Team Leader but the Direct Commission is cash into the pocket).

But the more important information on that scoreboard is actually on the other lines because that is where the residual grows - and shows.

I like your question and I'm going to tackle it in a different way than most others will. Instead of listing out the many different ways of convincing people to sign up, I'm going to discuss the psychology of an SFI conversion.

Firstly I want to stress one salient point and that is the mere fact the person signed up is really not the whole issue. If you trick or collude the person into filling out the application with false marketing then at the end you will likely just have yet another non-performing affiliate. The optimum use of the psychological signup will have the new affiliate EAGER to get serious.

So how do we do this?

If you were in an elevator and you overheard two men that seemed like stockbrokers quietly discussing a stock that was a rising star, what would you do? I think you would start looking seriously at that stock and you may even buy it. But what if those men weren't actually brokers? What if they were marketers for that stock and they were riding various elevators all over town? They have psychologically converted you into a buyer with a subtle ploy.

I suggest you try to sell the concept of SFI without actually trying to sell it. Why not try having a friend engage you in a conversation about another money making program, but keep slipping in SF
i casually into the conversation as the example you are comparing that other venture against. My whole point here is that if people think you're trying to sell them something, the will most often just dig their heels in. But if they think their 'eavesdropping' has discovered something secret and great, then they have just sold them selves.

Short Answer - The Squeaky Wheel Gets The Grease.

Medium Answer - The way to remain on your sponsor's radar is to stay on his/her mover's tab. You might also remain in contact with your upline by connecting with them in chat or by sending them periodic team mails. This answer really equates to the 'squeaky wheel' thing but many times people miss out on benefits/perks/rewards simply because they didn't ask for them.

Answer that Nobody Wants to Hear - There are sponsors that are complete duds. They are greedy and refuse to help the needy. You might have to learn only to rely on yourself. Don't allow the fact that your sponsor is worthless to you let any negativity creep into your perspective. Make a positive use of their negative influence by thinking of them as an EXCELLENT example of what you do NOT want to be.

Turnabout is Fair Play Answer - Lead your leader by your superb example. Think of those things you would like your sponsor to do for you, then do exactly that for your affiliates. Keep your sponsor advised as to what you're doing for your troops and perhaps that will shame him/her into doing more for you too.

Ultimate Answer - When you point one finger you should notice that the other three are pointing back at you. Having a supportive sponsor is (or would be) nice but the one person you will always get the strongest support from is currently reading this line. I have faith in you and you should have trust in yourself too. You can do it!

My personal best method of attracting new TripleClicks members is to blog about the interesting products/services I find here. I take my sweet time going through my daily tabs because I know I will gain some new inspiration. The TC and ECA tabs are especially helpful to me, as is the newest products point on the todo page. In fact that newest items section is invaluable.

The recently added products on the initial page might give you inspiration on how best to write about them and promote them but the real gold is on the left sidebar. That is where you find a search tool that you can configure and add filters to get exactly the results you need. I could spend literally hours looking and there is never an end to the inspiration I receive.

What you do with this gem is up to you. I personally blog about the appropriate items I find on one (or more) of my domains. Each post is another search engine lure in the prospect pond. You might do that too or you could micro-blog it on Twitter, Facebook, or wherever.

That is my method for attracting new TripleClicks members. It also has the added capability of drawing in some prospective affiliates too because I often mention how a person might profit by selling this and other items to themselves and to their friends.

That is a very good question and I suspect that many affiliates here will be eager to read some good answers. I sincerely hope my response here fits into that category of 'Helpful'

The most important thing to remember is that anything on topic and relevant is never spam. If you participate respectfully in the conversations and ask pertinent questions then nobody can accuse you of spamming. Now on to the crux of your question which is how to get prospective members interested in SFI.

1. The first thing you want to do is to make sure your signature is linked to your SFI gateway so that people can click on it to join. Where you're not allowed to use html or hotlinking then you must have your gateway link typed out so people can copy and paste it into their browser. Make sure you've included your affiliate number and it's also good to assign a key code so you can backtrack to see what is working for you. Example = http://www.sfi4.com/55555555.666/first

2. Play it smart to make sales. You're not really trying to get people interested in SFI. Instead you're looking to impress the lurkers as to how astute you are with respects to home business. People are more likely to buy in if they are motivated and you want them to want to emulate you. You want them to think "Wow! This guy/gal really knows home based business and if he/she thinks SFI is worth having in his/her signature block then I want to join SFI too."

3. Playing the forums with this philosophy in mind means that whatever topic you're discussing could attract both participants and onlookers of the thread to view your SFI gateway. You can garner your affiliates because if you show you're knowledgeable and interesting on just about anything people will want to follow you. It is anything but spam when you get new down line joining when the forum discussion wasn't even about multilevel-marketing or home business.

To reiterate, discussing anything anywhere is NOT spam if it is relevant and topical. As long as your views are well thought out and well presented, the subject matter is less important for gaining new members. Most of all you want to make certain that your SFI link is prominent every time you say something clever, helpful, or noteworthy.

There was a recent Ask SC question regarding what should be done with limited time of one hour per day. The answers to that question showed that success is certainly possible even with the constraints of lack of time and/or internet access.

Someone with limited internet access might concentrate on using the off line methods of generating sales and signups. There are numerous methods listed in the marketing methods.

There you will find a treasure trove of marketing methods that range from ways a beginner can easily handle and on up to advanced methods. There are currently 98 listed methods but I suppose that Gery probably won't stop adding until he's given us well over a hundred.

Now think about this for a minute. There are ninety-eight methods listed. I'm certainly not going to bore you to tears by listing out and commenting on all of them. Instead I'll say that I've been marketing online for so long that I don't need to stick with the beginner methods - but I have gone back to some of them!

I blog on my own domains and I have the twitter/facebook/digg/stumbleon/etc accounts to micro-blog on but I ALSO just ordered some SFI-X cards too. I want to give some of those beginner methods a try because SFI has thoughtfully provided us with some GREAT tools to do our job brilliantly - Even those new at marketing!

To impress upon your affiliates the importance of grabbing the daily action points I think you might equate it to higher education.

In elementary school we have to attend everyday generally because our parents either take us there or put us on the school bus that goes nowhere else but to classes. Then in Junior High and High School the teachers take attendance and our parents reduce our allowances if we cut too many learning sessions.

Once a student is in college or university, the onus is on them to attend the lectures (and stay awake through them). The learning an absentee pupil misses is gone and even borrowing crib notes from a roommate can't bring it back. The very same is true for Daily Action Points, if they are missed in a day, they are gone and they can't even be bought back.

Many people here are under financial restraints and they can't buy the SO that gives sales points. I'm not one but I certainly do admire the tenacity it must take to gain each point the hard way. For myself, I do have a SO that gets me to EA status automatically but I still have to scratch and claw to make it to Bronze Team Leader. I need all of the daily action points too. Action points are worth more than money to me.

I need and want the daily points just as you do and just as your affiliates should. I expect I will as well when I'm striving for STL, then GTL, and then platinum. The action points are pivotal to success at whichever level (maybe not for Diamonds who have it made in the shade).

The journey to both matriculation and to financial independence requires seeing to all of the stages and grades along the way. That means daily points and/or daily classes but I think the monetary rewards from SFI will make me feel better than my diploma on the wall does.

If relating the foregoing doesn't impress upon them the importance of daily action points, then threaten to rap their knuckles with a ruler. That always worked versus me.
