How important is it to have a good sponsor and co-sponsor?

A good sponsor (or co sponsor) is (only) important immediately after registration - because Homepage can be confusing for newbies and new member alone can not cope on it. At this point it is crucial presence sponsors. Sponsor should explain what it is about, what it is to Tripleclicks, some things about games, some essential rules.
SFI has provided training (Launchpad - read it!). All information and many things related to marketing can be found on your Homepage. But you have to try harder. You will have to search this site. It's ridiculous to expect to your sponsor sends you a link to the banners or a link through which you enter your Genealogy.
You will have to make a blog or site and to post adds. Your sponsor can not do it for you. And most importantly - your sponsor is not obligated to send you gift certificate or to buy W3 kit for you.
What if your sponsor is not active? You can contact your upline and ask for help.You're the one who chose your sponsors (rarely he is awarded by SFI). In the mass advertising you just clicked on his. Most of us on their blogs or websites leave our e-mail address. Basically, most of us ask of the future PSA prior to membership contact us. Also, a newbie can read our Welcome message where we put some instructions for first steps.

What are the best methods for recruiting new affiliates via social media?

I think the best way to recruit new affiliates through social networks granting of paid ads on Facebook. Today, since there are a large number of tutorials on You tube, it is not a problem to do so. Also, you can open your fan page and regularly renew it.
Even if you don’t do none of these things, you can give advertisements in various Facebook groups. A good idea is that to post regularly post on the SFI company at your personal account. You should accept friend requests, you develop your business, and in that way, a large number of people can see your posts (you can always block someone who is unpleasant - this is one of the advantages of the Internet)
My advice is to activate yourself on Twitter. Occasionally you publish your post. Do not forget - the more people or companies follow more people will follow you too.
And never, never give up.

I want to recruit only SERIOUS affiliates. What should I tell prospects about SFI to ensure this?

I think none of us have the answer to that question. We are trying to develop our teams. We provide advertisements everywhere, some of us join friends and relatives, but there is no formula that will tell us which of our associates to be serious.
It is occurred to me that someone in whom I have placed my hope give up at the first obstacle. It is occurred to me that someone from whom I did not expect much, still works. It is occured to me that I good judge of associates. I've given the same chance to everyone. SFI has great affiliate program. Our job is to tell the truth to our associates, we introduce and explain the opportunities in the job. But nothing, absolutely nothing that we say, it can not persuade the lazy man to work.
I can only tell you how to recognize those who are not serious. They aren't trying, they are wailing and nagging. They always ask how much is the salary. Usually do what they want and do not listen to your advice. They shout sky is falling.
A serious affiliate answers your emails, listen to your advice, have questions and not expected to earn a million dollars a month. He or she plays t-time and other games.

Many affiliates seem only interested in the Daily To-Do list. How can I motivate them to do other activities?

My advice is: use SFI free resources - especially SFI forum and knowledge of the people who are its members.
It is great if your affiliates do their daily actions. That shows that they’re interested in SFI. The more time they spend at their Homepage – they will develop a habit (and a habit is a powerful thing) and become interested in other things – such as is Alerts tab. I think you should recommend them to visit SFI forum (if they don’t discover it themselves). Very soon, they will discover stories of success people and they will read their advices. They will read chats about games and auctions and they will become curious…
You should explain them how to find compensation plans and talk to them about team. When somebody sees how his earning increases with increasing number of his associates will begin to build his team.

I know it sounds like a cliche, but it is best to SFI becomes part of your daily routine.
I'm a bit forgetful person. Sometimes it happened to me to forget to do all the daily tasks (this refers to WIN IT). I have solved this problem: as soon as I get up I make some coffee and I do daily tasks. Later in the day again 'flips through' SFI site. That can not happen that due to some other commitments forget the Daily actions.
I use sticky notes to remind me at monthly and weekly task. Now I have my own downline and I have a responsibility I have a responsibility to remind them to weekly tasks.

What do you tell an affiliate who says he's going to quit because nothing is coming of his efforts and hard work?

It is very tricky and delicate situation. There is no universal solution for that situation. Each case is unique, but common to all of them is that we, their sponsors, are very uncomfortable.
Someone gives up after three or four weeks. Then they mostly give up those who work what they want, do not listen to advice and expect a quick buck. There is no such thing as a free lunch. For those who believe in that you shouldn't be pitied. What is the definition of hard work? Someone regularly works daily tasks, sets commercials, plays games, visit the forum. And yet someone is hard to read mail. I've had such PSA three months ago. The guy was highly educated. But ... Constantly he needed support. So he got it from me and my up line. Games were stupid for him, daily tasks were boring for him. Constantly moaned as much work. He submitted to one or two advertisements per day. After a while (three weeks) he gave up. But before that he managed to get me in a very, very unpleasant situation. He insulted people who were so nice to him and help him. I was so ashamed. I thought to give up, but thanks to my upline I did not. They told me: "We are all adults. Who want to work - help him, who don't want to work - let him to go. Your job is that you tell them how - everything else is on them."
It happens that someone has a bad start. You should see where this person is wrong. You might have problems with placing advertisements. Maybe he does not know how to set up a commercial or sets the wrong places. We all have bad periods. Then you need to give that support associate until you pass. Sometimes it's enough to get some rest and relax for a few weeks and he goes after that job.

A person who has his own site appears much more professional than a person in its advertisement placed direct link. Also, when you have a site you can to advertise and where they are not allowed SFI and tripleclicks links.
There are sites (blogger or weebly) that you 'borrow' their domain. You can also get a free domain name (eg webudha.com or similar).
When you buy a domain you can get address that ends with .com or .eu. People have more confidence in such domains. And of course, Google when you search out your site with this domain.

This job gives everyone the same chance. Of course, there is no such thing as a free lunch. You have to work hard to succeed. It is necessary that you invest a lot of time and effort.

Also, you should be able to contact your sponsor. He will not bite you. Just click on the tab MY ACCT and choose MY Upline. Here you'll find informations not only about your sponsor, but of your entire upline. If your sponsor is no longer active, you can contact anyone on the list and ask for help. Each of them will be happy to help you.
There is no shame to ask. There is no shame to ask for help.

Your question is interesting. It's nice to have your own shop. It is also useful. But only if you have really something to offer. You need to offer some concrete products; the image of the product should be beautiful and true. You have to inquiry for the cost of postage costs. Also, you have to quickly answer e-mails interested. You should quickly deliver purchased goods. It is not easy to run a shop. This is a responsible job.
