I don't think anyone else can tell you which is the best LaunchPad lesson for you! They are all good and together they lay a solid foundation for new affiliates, covering all the basic issues and topics that you need to get started.

The lesson that you think is best will be the one that sparks something new in you, something that you didn't know before or maybe something that encourages you in your next step to develop your business! The one with the 'YES!!!' factor!

Depending on personality, life experience, age and previous experience, different lessons will give that 'YES!!!' factor to different people!

Also I think you will find that when you come back to the LaunchPad lessons later to review them, you'll find that different lessons will stand out for you personally at that time because your own experience and knowledge of SFI will have moved on!

So I encourage you to read them all, one a day, learn and apply what is useful to you now and make a note of the lessons you find particularly useful so you can come back to them again and again until you've got everything out of them that you can!

Good question!
My first reaction was 'why would you want to? Do you just want a get rich quick scheme?'!
But when an airplane pilot puts the plane on auto pilot it doesn't mean he walks away and ignores the plane!
It just means he hands certain tasks over to be carried out automatically WHEN everything is running smoothly!

In the same way, there are several things in the SFI system that you can put on auto pilot, e.g. Using S-builder co-op to get a small number of PSAs each month without having to do the advertising or recruiting yourself, setting up a 1500 VP standing order so you automatically requalify for EA status each month and using the genealogy mailer to get training and encouragement out to your whole downline!

These will all achieve something for you that saves some time and effort, and that frees you up to concentrate on other aspects of your SFI business! There will be times when other things are happening in your work or personal life when you may need to go on to auto pilot for a while, and that's fine, in fact it's one of the things I like about SFI, that there is flexibility in the system.

But I don't believe you can put the whole thing on autopilot, not as a longterm strategy at least. That implies that you don't really want to engage with the SFI family, you just want the money! I hope that's not what you want anyway! Don't get me wrong, we all want the money to some degree or another, or we wouldn't be here, but for most active SFIers there's at least an element of family about it, helping each other out, to learn and grow our businesses together!

Basically, if you just want a get rich quick scheme where you set it off and then don't need to do anything then there are plenty out there! But if you want a fantastic business framework which has been set up to guide you through business setup and development, with inbuilt training, community and with many automated tools to free you to concentrate on developing other areas, then congratulations! You've found it!

There's no doubt that some people are born with natural leadership qualities, but they still need to develop and refine those skills. Many other people are not what they would call 'born leaders', but through opportunity, training and coaching become good and effective leaders. A few people have no interest at all in leading anyone in any situation, but I think they are rare!

I'm guessing that you are not in that last category otherwise you'd have no interest in asking your question! I'm guessing that you don't feel like a leader, but have that desire in your heart, to build a team for your own success and for those who will be part of your team. If that is you then be encouraged! SFI is the Best setup system I've ever seen both for new affiliates to learn the system and start building their business, and to help you build and lead your own team! If you follow the training through the SFI BASICS and the LAUNCHPAD, read and learn as much as you can through the FORUM and ASK SC, concentrating on any leadership questions and training, then put it into practice, I'm sure you'll become a fantastic leader.

Natural 'born' leaders sometimes take their abilities for granted and don't put any effort into being the best. Those who have to work harder at leadership often make great leaders because they understand how hard it can be and probably have more experience of persevering through to build skills that don't come naturally to them.

So be encouraged, and go for it! Hoping to see you at the top of the leader boards soon!

I don't think you can ensure anything. Nothing is guaranteed because it's not 100% in your control, but you can do your best to encourage your downline to duplicate.
The most important thing is to do and be what you want them to duplicate! You are their example, so be the best example possible! Lead them in the way you want to be lead - whether your upline are doing that or not!
Duplication, by definition, is copying or reproducing the same thing! It's not inventing or creating something new, so you need to make sure you are and do what you want them to copy!
Follow the SFI system, build your own business and leadership skills and let your downline see that, then they have a good model to copy!

There have been many great answers already, but I would focus on three keys areas for students, that it's FREE, FLEXIBLE and for the FUTURE.

FREE - most students don't have much spare money, if any, or at least don't want to be running up more debts.
FLEXIBLE - students have erratic patterns of free time, sometimes having plenty of free time and at other times having none at all!
FUTURE - what an opportunity SFI is for students to start building a business that can be a solid second income or their main career for the future!

Firstly, my sensible reason which is that I want to build another income stream. My other income streams can be erratic so it's good to not have all your eggs in one basket as we say!

Secondly, also quite sensible, my pension funds are not very big as my income in the last few years has been low, so I also want to be abe to boost my 'retirement' funds... I'm not sure I'll ever properly retire but it's nice to have some financial security in case you can't work any more, and as I'm in my fifties already this is much more important to me now than it would have been even ten years ago!

Thirdly, I love building teams, getting to know them, and helping them and I can see SFI is a really powerful tool to help people build something for their futures and their families starting with nothing but Internet access!

Lastly, I love it!! It's compulsive, like a computer game but with value and a point to it!!

Whatever motivates you to start and continue with your SFI business, I hope you will enjoy it too!

I think it depends on many things...
Your own personality - do you prefer talking about business things face to face or with less personal communication?
The personality of your prospect?
Is your prospect Internet literate - are they online all the time or a bit scared of technology?
How many online contacts do you have? And how many 'offline' contacts?
Are you comfortable talking to strangers? If so you can start a conversation about TripleClicks and give them a gift card... if not, don't do it, it will only stress you! And be careful about approaching strangers online in case you get labelled or blocked as a spammer!

I prefer the digital TC gift cards because I live outside the USA and the shipping costs are high if you live elsewhere, but I still like to sit with someone to explain what it is and to make sure they can access the site properly with the card code.

I think that probably there are cultural differences that will make one method better than the other in some countries, but I don't have enough experience to help with that!

I would suggest that you try both to see which you prefer personally, and keep a log or diary when you start so you can track which works better for you with your contacts. You can add some notes to the TC gift card logging system on SFI, it may be enough to help you track them.

I think that depends on whether you are using the Internet or face to face methods to recruit.

Either way, your main focus is to try to find serious SFI affiliates, and they are less than 5% of sign ups for most of us. As far as I know, this average is across the board and doesn't really vary by country or language, so when you find an active, eager affiliate I would nurture them with every bit of experience and skill that you have, regardless of language! If they want to succeed there are translation tools and other ways you can use to help and encourage them and there are many good answers here already that can help.

If you are using face to face methods to recruit then unless you are already in a cross cultural situation yourself then most of your prospects are likely to be English speaking or will speak your own language if you don't speak English as your first language. In other words you will have a natural affinity with them which will make it easier!

If you are using Internet based methods, for example your own website or blog, or SFI tools like s-builder co-op or PSAs to go, then you will have no control over who signs up into your team, but again, if you find a worker, work with them regardless of language!

As for whether you should concentrate on trying to recruit non-English speakers/readers or not I think that is up to you. It can take more time and effort to work with someone from a different culture and language but as I said before if they are a keen worker they will be worth the extra effort!

Help them to concentrate on offline actions to build their business such as face to face contacts, friends, family, neighbours, local businesses as ECAs. They can also use physical marketing aids such as flyers and postcards. If they have a car they can enroll in the Wave3 program.
The other thing that can really help them is to encourage/teach them to be really organised offline so that their limited online time can be maximised. For example using spreadsheets, databases, word processors etc.
