I know it can be quite infuriating when the people you are trying to help, ignore your messages, don’t respond at all or ignore what you say and just go right ahead and do the opposite of what you are suggesting. I suspect all sponsors have experienced this.

Well, right from the word go, we tell our downline members that its their business. They are the owners and they run them their way. As sponsors, our role is to give them the training, coaching and support – not telling them how to run their businesses. We make suggestions but that’s it.
If you want to constructively criticize your downline, I would suggest that you do that with tact and diplomacy. Do not violate their right as business owners.

I have some suggestions and these are how I constructively criticize my people:

1. I word them as a ‘tips’ Formulate it as something they are missing out on (eg -not collecting daily VP)

2. You can put it across as a suggestion explaining why you are recommending that course of action and the benefits/advantages. (eg – why should transfer buy)

3. You can also put it across as a lamentation – “It’s a real pity that this happened but....we live and learn...”

You want to come across as someone who is real and who genuinely wants to help. Never give or even hint an impression that you are just after the benefits of having active and successful affiliates. You are there beside them wanting them to grow their businesses and be successful.

Where they have blatantly ignored my suggestions, I simply continue making the suggestion. I try and sell the suggestions to them. I always respect their right to make their own decisions.

These people are possibly starting to think and look at retirement. Some of them may have large mortgages that they are trying to service or to pay off before retirement and are possibly looking for additional sources of income. Some of them may have been laid off from work and are finding it hard to find employment.

Whatever situation they are in, this age group should be easier to attract to SFI. They are also likely to stay on and to be active affiliates.

They are also young enough to be taught 'new tricks' and are generally up to date with computers etc..

There is no magical formula to attract these people to SFI. It is a matter of ensuring that you advertising is geared towards this age group. For example, I am told that the major users of Linkedin is the 40+ age group. This is obviously where one should advertise if this is you targeted age group.

Give them the facts about SFI and explain to them why they should enrol and get started with SFI. Let them examine the 'Comparison Chart' on how we measure up to others in the same type of business.

I believe that they will be impressed and will want to be part of this great business.

Its great to see that you have used the words 'can earn' but honestly, I have a problem with the word 'convince.'

The reason I say that is because I have absolute confidence that once people understand the structure of SFI, if they are of average intelligence, they will see for themselves that their earning potential in SFI is really limited only by the amount of work they put in and their business abilities.

So to answer your question, how you 'convince someone that they can earn a substantial income in SFI' is by explaining to them clearly the business structure of SFI. You need to know how it works inside out. If you don't, then you need to do some more studies. You cannot explain something you don't know about:

Explain the following:

Explain to them the relationship between SFI and TripleClicks and all the promotional activities associated with TripleClicks store such as the auctions, Wave3, contests etc..

Explain to them the SFI affiliate system - That the affiliates (recruits)are provided/assigned sponsors to mentor/support them - the affiliates to promote SFI and recruit other affiliates - all affiliates to promote TripleClicks products & receive commissions from sales to persons they refer to the store including later sales, providing residual income.

Explain to them TripleClicks, the various stores, where they are located, who owns and manages them.

Explain the VP system, leadership levels, Duplication and Matching VPs from qualifying EA2s and above - PSAs and CSAs.

Explain to then the Executive Pool and how one can share in the pool - the leadership (rank) levels and how the shares increase as one progresses up the ladder.

Explain to them the ECA system and how they as the sponsor benefits and how they themselves can become ECAs

Explain to them also the other income streams available within SFI.

Explain also the SFI/TripleClicks support systems.

There is no magic formula here I'm afraid, you just have to explain it to them.

We all have different ambitions, abilities and different level of resources.

It would be unwise to hold back someone who is ambitious and has the ability and resources to advance through the Team Leadership level. It would be just as unwise to urge through the levels someone who is yet to learn the business, hasn't acquired the necessary skills as yet or the resources.

You don’t want the ambitious stifled or discouraged. Those who advance rapidly but don’t have the ability or resources I find, tend to drop down after the second month in SFI. They get frustrated, or lose heart and then abandon working the business or leave SFI.

I believe the key is to be explicitly honest with them right from the word go.

I tell them very early that in the 1st and the 2nd months in SFI, they can make EA easily. After that the going can be tough to achieve or maintain EA and TL levels if they don’t strategies and prepare for them.

I refer them to the Benefits Chart and explain to them the VP requirements for each level and also the consequences of losing their EA or TL ranks. The drive therefore is to acquire, preferably exceed, the necessary VPs for the rank they aspire to, month after month.

I tell them that ones they have used up the readily available VP at the homepage they will have to collect VP from elsewhere – TC games & contests, sales, sponsoring others, daily to do activities etc.. They therefore need to start promoting TripleClicks and recruiting affiliates to sponsor as early as possible. Even if they don’t know what to do, as their sponsor I would help them.

My intentions are to make sure that they fully understand what advancing to Team Leader means and the consequences of failing to maintain that level, e.g. the loss of CSA etc... I applaud their efforts and will always be encouraging and supportive but I believe that it would be unwise of me to tell them to slow down or speed up.

The businesses are theirs and they are the ones to make the decisions regarding where go with their businesses and how quickly they get there.

This is a huge subject and how you tackle this task is largely dependent on the abilities of your PSAs. Obviously you will need to tailor your approach from affiliate to affiliate if possible, but as a standard approach, I would recommend that you focus 1st on the following:

1) Explain to them what/who SFI is.
2) Ensure that they understand what TripleClicks is and where it fits in the picture.
3) Also show and explain to them the different income streams available
4) as well as the Compensation plan.

Once they understand these, they will quickly realise and appreciate their role as affiliates. From then on you should not have to explain anything major about SFI.

Quite a number of our affiliates are new to this kind of business. They are also new to promotional/advertising work, new to recruiting, team building and online business. A number of them are also limited financially and are therefore reluctant to spend money on something new and foreign to them.

You therefore need to be strategic about how you introduce S Builder Co-ops.

I would recommend the following steps:

1. Become an S Builder Co-op purchaser yourself and your banner will be displayed for all your team members to see.

2. If you can make it one of the items on your Standing Order, thats even better.

3. Gradually talk to your team about the need to recruit others, to build their own teams of affiliates and the benefits of doing so. You can tell them the various ways of going about recruiting - advertising themselves, bidding at TC auctions for PSAs and CSAs, purchasing recruiting products such as S Builder Co-ops. The bold and bright members will pick up on this and purchase the S Builder Co-ops immediately.

4. You can also promote S Builder co-op units directly to your affiliates. Tell them how it has worked for you, some of them may have been recruited via the S Builder co-op units. Tell them how many of your affiliates were recruited that way say in the last 3 months. Promote it on your Leadership page. Talk about them in your Streams and Newsletters.

5. If there are no takers then you could also offer to go halves or shares in the cost of S Builder Co-op units. A member could purchase a unit & pay for it himself and then you can refund half the cost to the member on proof of the order. Your affiliate will get all the new signups at half the price of the S Builder Co-op unit. You will get the flow on benefits from their earnings and if your affiliate opts out of SFI, all his affiliates will revert to his upline - you.

6. You can also use the S Builder Co-op units as rewards and incentives for achievements or use it as a prize for a contest. Whatever you do here, make sure that you tell everyone of the outcome. Acknowledge and praise those to whom the units are awarded.

This will obviously be a continuing exercise as new affiliates join your team.

The aim here is to create an environment where it is standard and normal to purchase S Builder Co-op units to help with recruiting.

The best way of course is as they say 'eyeball to eyeball.' That is face to face and each others physical presence on a regular basis.

If you are able to meet up with some if not all of your PSA, I would highly recommend that you do just that. You could meet over a cup of coffee initially, getting to know each other and then progress from there.

You may have set out to train them but I suspect that after a short while friendships will develop and you will have yourself a nice and active team of affiliates, sharing ideas and encouraging each other along and introducing new members (affiliates) to the coffee club. New members to the club must be current members' SFI affiliates of course.

You can of course organise a seminar for a day or two - hire a venue if you don't have one of your own - organise the program/speakers/admin/set fees/advertise/catering etc.
This can be not only for training purposes but also for recruiting.

I believe that in order to get them to be serious SFI business builders, they must have the correct state of mind and attitude towards SFI.

The very 1st requirement is for them to be completely sold on SFI. They must firmly believe that the SFI business is the vehicle that would take them along the road to financial success, to their dreams and goals. If they do not have this belief, then SFI is a hobby or a plaything. They will log in when they feel like it, play a game or an auction here and there but will lack that fervent drive to grow the business.

They must accept the fact the success of their business depends largely on themselves. They are not employees working for a set number of hours a week and getting paid for those hours worked. No, they are to get rid of that mindset. They are running their own business.

They must also be prepared to invest time, effort and money in the business. Accept the risks. There will be good and bad times.

These are only some of the things that an affiliate needs in order to be a serious SFI business builder but I believe that they are the most important.

Your role as the sponsor is to provide and promote the environment for these attitudes and outlooks to flourish. Plant the seeds of success early, water the young plants, fertilise them and nurture them into fruitful trees who will produce seeds and start the process all over again – duplication!

Set good examples for your affiliates. Be active in SFI, have a Standing Order, be a Wave3 member, A2A member, ECA if possible, participate in the games and contests, auctions, be active at The Forum, be involved with ASK SC. Practise what you say to your affiliates.

Teach your affiliates about the business, how to go about doing things, how to advertise, to sponsor, how to use TripleClicks etc.. Encourage them and keep on telling them about SFI, the potential of this business and their own potentials. If they have successes or reach any milestone, celebrate these with the whole team.

Make them believe in SFI and in themselves. If they believe they will become very serious SFI business builders.

If they are unaware of SFI obviously you will give them information that would arouse their interest. Be brief and this is what most of us do with our advertising. The idea here is to get them interested and hopefully they will go a step further and either sign up to SFI or look for further information.

If you are successful with your advertising and the prospect contacts you seeking further information about SFI, then you may give them a more lengthy overview of SFI. If they sign up immediately responding to the advertisements I would recommend that you give them the same - a fairly good overview of SFI.

If you are in personal contact with a prospect, e.g. someone that you know or a family member, I would recommend that you tell them as much about SFI as you are able to or they want to.

My attitude, especially after they have shown an interest in SFI, is to be absolutely honest with them.

Many prospects and newly signed up members ask – ‘How do I earn money in SFI?’ – ‘How is SFI structured?’ – ‘Where do I fit in with SFI?’ I believe that your SFI overview should at least cover answers to these questions.
