I am in this boat right now as well. At first, I got a few CSAs and thought "how am I supposed to help them when we signed up the same day? We are learning the same things."

What I did was I got ahead. I got the Fast Track Badge, and even achieved EA status the first day. I read and I re-read. I took as much time as I could in the first day and the first week to learn all that I could.

This allowed me to answer any questions my CSAs might have had and give advice as to where they should start as well. Knowing what you are doing is the first step, then the rest is just passing on the information, or duplicating what you achieved by helping your CSAs. If they see you are excited and motivated to go far, they are likely to follow.

Don't worry if you don't know the answers immediately. Chances are you can find the answer somewhere in this amazing site, or you can contact any member of your up line for help. Let your CSA know that you will find the answer for them. Let them know they are not alone.

The simple fact of the matter is, people aren't perfect. Chances are some people that seem to have the best chance to succeed will eventually give up or get tired and leave. You can't control this, so you have to have a continuous influx of PSAs.

Of course you don't want to start your first month with 100 PSAs when you are still learning the ropes. Start off learning how to use SFI and learn how to be a good...no...a great sponsor. After you learn how to best assist a few, then you may want to create template messages for your future PSAs and start coming up with ideas as to how to motivate your current PSAs as well as the ones that stick around later.

If your PSAs are motivated, chances are that you won't need to worry about them other than the weekly motivational message. More often than not, they will send you messages if they have questions, but make sure you know they can contact about anything and you will get back to them as soon as possible.

I once read a best tip that said you should refer 5 people, then teach them to refer 5 people each and help those refer 5 for each of them and so on. This can take you far, but if you can have 10 that refer 10, the potential grows exponentially.

In conclusion: sponsor as many as you can because you will lose some along the way, unfortunately. Assisting your PSAs shouldn't be a chore, it should be about helping them help themselves, not them helping you.

If you take an economics class, one of the first things you will learn is that nothing is free. Something that doesn't cost you money still is not free, as it requires time. Time that you could spend doing something else. This is referred to as the opportunity cost.

In essence, no matter what you do, there is a cost. Whether the cost is important depends on whether you method works better than the other method you could be using. But there is virtually no way to measure this as you can't do two methods at the exact same time. You can do one, and then do the other, but it may have been better to do the second method first. There is no way to actually know. You just have to go with your instincts.

To address the financial part of advertising, it depends on what methods you use. Some people may have better luck using a blogging platform or free WYSIWYG website. Others may find it easier to pay for advertising on websites. The only way is to test them and find out. If the second method proves more effective, unfortunately you have come up on the short side of the opportunity cost.

Referring friends and family can be easy and hard, beneficial and bad. Some will respond better than others, but ultimately you need to find the one like you.

You need to find the one that is driven. The one that is sick of their job. I ended up at SFI because I was sick of my job, and I have coworkers that feel the same as I do about our job. So guess who I'm planning on referring first. These will be the most likely be the easiest to get to sign up, last the longest, and work the hardest. Same for family members. If you find the ones that are unhappy with their job, they will be that much better. Especially if they are searching for a job and can't find one.

But how to approach them?

Whether you are new to SFI, or you have been a member for a year, there is a simple way to get people intrigued: "I'm so sick of this job, I turned to the internet and found a legitimate website." This is where knowing facts like SFI started in 1998 and they are BBB accredited come in handy. Of course you can put your own spin on it, but the point is to first get them interested, so that they ask you for the information. After talking for a while, if they don't ask them for it, you can offer to give them the information on how to join.

Just remember that it is easiest to succeed if the person has some money to invest. If they don't have any money, and you can't help them out, they may become tired of doing something when they see such little return.

Do not push them, as this can create annoyance, and eventually tension, at work or in the family.
