In my point of view you should absolutely acknowledge their presence. Best if you see them online and can set up a live chat with them. But chances are often slim that you will see them when they are online.

Second best is to send them an e-card. The “I Can Help” category might be just the thing to get their attention. Offer your assistance in any way you can. You could even go the extra mile and offer them, if they request it via email, a TC Gift Certificate just to help them start to get acquainted with some of the many facets of TripleClicks.

You could also, after checking their VPLedger, refer them to some of the learning activities which they may have not gotten to as yet. Or even to reread the Launchpad lessons.

Any help you can offer without being too pushy is always best. Just always try to keep a line of communication open.

Greed has nothing to do with it. This is business and business has a cost.

It is very important that your PSAs understand that SFI is not a get-rich-quick scheme but is, rather, a real business and real business requires an investment in both time and money.

I try to be very straight forward right from the beginning. Never mince words or beat around the bush. Honesty is always the best policy where business is concerned so since you are the one to lead and mentor the new affiliate never be shy where an explanation of any step of the business is concerned.

And let’s be honest. The cost is not excessive. It’s not the several hundred thousand dollars that most franchises require. It is embarrassingly low cost in comparison to any other opportunity most anyone has ever seen. Be proud to explain how much we receive for very little investment.

A SFI blog and a co-op are mutually exclusive. They can work together in a synergistic fashion to help grow your business.

The blog can, over time, attract new affiliates to your business and it is a great way to disseminate information to your growing team about any contests, rewards or incentive programs for the “movers” on your team.

The Co-op, however, could easily be one of those incentive programs of which I just spoke. After a PSA performs certain functions or attains certain goals he can be rewarded with one or more “shares” in your co-op depending on performance.

Also might I add that you can have as many SFI Co-ops as you wish. I have several. Some active. Some not. Unlike a blog they are not something you must monitor daily. Set it up, add or subtract recipients and you’re good to go. Whereas a blog really should be maintained on a daily basis in order to be noticed by the search engines (or anybody else, for that matter).

You must remember that the correct answer is not always the correct answer!! The correct answer is, instead, the most popular answer.

Try to forget all your trivia training and knowledge (reserve that for “Knockout Trivia”). Begin, instead, to try to think like the everyday “Survey” answering affiliate (which is where the questions come from).

We all are able to answer the “Survey” questions to obtain 1(one)VP daily. So you must remember that thousands of affiliates who might never attempt any kind of trivia game are supplying the answers for “Gold Streak.” And, although well meaning, the answers may or may not be the correct ones in all instances.

So be practical but knowledgeable, both at the same time. And, as they say in Vegas, “Good Luck!”

The “yardstick” you might use is a simple one. You can’t use a spreadsheet or database to evaluate human action (or inaction).

Simply ask yourself a few easy questions.

1. Does my Sponsor answer my emails in a timely fashion?
2. Is the information I get useful to me or do I get standard “out of the box” answers to my questions?
3. Does he/she send out a weekly newsletter?
4. Do I see frequent posts on the Stream page?
5. Do they offer incentives or contests? (This particular point is, to me, lower priority than the previous)

If you think about it you will probably come up with other points that affect your business activity but as you can see, my “yardstick” is a simple one.

On each ECA page there are two areas that would be of interest to someone wishing promote either a single product or the entire contents of the individual store.

At the bottom of each ECA home page there is a blue box entitled “SFI Info Box.” Here you will find a link to promote this ECA as well as information for you about your TripleClicks account.

Also if you are interested on promoting an individual product there is a tab on each product page called “SFI Affiliates.” This area will show links to promote the product, all of the ECA’s products as well as the entire department of products.

That said, I personally would not pressure my downline to actively promote anything on my store. I simply include the store link in my signature whenever I contact them through email, the Genealogy mailer or the Gift Card mailer. I also encourage them to start their own store, using my own as an example.

I am afraid that there is only one practical answer to this very frustrating question.

If one does not have the time to invest in a small business venture there is no good sense in even getting started.

If a prospective affiliate has money and no time I would suggest any number of excellent ways to invest it. Stocks, IRA, 401k, real estate, bonds of various sorts. And, oh yes, I certainly am not the one to be giving financial advice but there sure are many who can.

One thing for certain is that most people who have money probably are businessmen anyway and very surely understand the time commitment necessary to any business.

Your best bet is to make him a PRM/customer.

Very simply put, a garage sale is a place where people wish to sell as much of their unwanted junk as they possibly can. Well what better place to sell stuff than on the largest, international “yard sale” there is?

At other’s yard sales, whether you purchase anything or not always have a supply of TC Gift Cards with you. Simply tell the owners of the sale about how they can easily sell their stuff nationwide (or worldwide, if they wish). The TCredits they receive on the Gift Card will get them started. Be sure to leave your phone number with them if they have any questions.

At your own sale you can do just the opposite by giving a Gift Card to everyone who walks by. Those who buy, in case they want to check out other items later. And those who don’t, in case they have a change of mind.

Tripleclicks, on the other hand, is your online store and the marketing arm of SFI. You have access to market, worldwide, over 90,000 products and services provided on Tripleclicks.

Here would be a good time to show them your own ECA store, the ECA index page or your favorite ECA as well as Pricebenders Auctions, Music and Games.
