This is a very good question because this activity is the essence in SFI.
First of all you have to be the person who is not afraid to take risks. In the dictionary, this word is defined as it comes: " a person who sets up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit." So you don't have to be afraid to risk some money, to invest in your business, to invest in promoting your products, you have to be an action person and to work hard for your own business, to promote and to hire people, never give up, you have to be a visionary, to have the vision of your own business plan. The ones who never want to invest in their own business, are not entrepreneurs, are not business people, they will never have a successful business because quality stuff is never for free.
On the other hand you have to take decisions, to communicate with people , you have to be well informed and learn a lot about your business so you could teach your PSAs and support your CSAs and never be afraid to admit when you make mistakes.We all learn from mistakes, this is the only way we gain experience. So don't be afraid to write emails, you don't have to be a professional writer, just communicate what you have to say, support people, encourage them.
To make it shorter, there are 3 important fact we have to do: to invest , to communicate and to advertise.
Not all people are made to be entrepreneurs.

Yes, this is the way to start making money, you need to invest a little, no business will start to bring you incomes unless you won't invest a little money. I think the holidays seasons are the best because I have noticed that people would buy anything. You would never know what is the most bought product, and you can't sell everything, the market is very large. All you can do is to advertise your store and your products and SFI has some wonderful marketing and advertising aids in the marketing section. You can advertise your products on the social sites and on your personal blog or site using the season's backgrounds and layers, just give it a Christmas and New Year new coat.
If you thing you can sell other products than you usually do, it would be a good idea to search the internet and the local news papers, to watch the TV and you will be inspired by the commercials there. First of all, from what I noticed, the season's decorations for the house are very popular, jewelry , smartphones, iPads, Ipodes, DVDs with games, DVDs with movies, all kind of sweets, perfumes. But I still maintain my idea that you don't have to change the sales profile, you only have to give it a season's layer.

Hi! I have to admit this is a good question, yes!
I noticed that every new affiliate is focused to make as many as possible VPs. Sometimes they don't understand what they do but they go through the to-do list just to win the VPs. As time passes buy, they notice they can't go on like this because they need to build a team and to advertise their business, else they would get drown.
The first month is a learning month, we must to read, learn, inform as much as we can and we must log in every day to solve the daily tasks. As time passes by and we become EA, EA2, BTL, STL ...and so on, we start to work with our team, to built it, to help our PSAs become EAs and BTLs..., we sell products, we keep working longer and longer for advertising and building a team, we gain experience and we start to understand the business.
The SFI is not only about gaining VPs, it is about marketing: marketing to build our team, marketing to sell our products, marketing to teach and support out team members.
We notice the VPs are earned easier when we focus on the team and marketing.
It is absolutely normal to read and learn when we are beginners and to become more experienced in time so we understand how to continue our business .
I would not advice nobody to jump over a level because this is the normal course of things, just like children in school: first we learn and read and inform, we do the simple things that we understand and then we start to experience and solve more complicated problems and teach others.
