What is the best way to help my affiliates build their downlines?

There are many ways to help affiliates build their downlines.
My answer to this question is to add them to your advertising co-op as soon as they become Executive Affiliate. They should have PSA's coming in on a regular basis. This will encourage advancement.
Once this is done you should teach them to do their own advertising and give them suggestions on where the best places, the best ads and the best times to advertise. You could create ads using your best ideas that give you the best results for examples.
Give them marketing tips, strategies and ideas on a weekly basis. Suggest an affordable marketing
plan for them to follow. Also if you have marketing ebooks you could email to them for training.
They will need to learn this for duplication so that they may teach their downline.
Let them know that it will take time to see results but in the end all their hard work will pay off.

What Information should I give new affiliates in my first email to them?

In your first email to new affiliates be sure to let them know you are there for them when they need assistance. They can get answers in the forum if you are not available in emergencies.
Be sure to let them know that SFI is not a 'Get Rich Quick' scheme and there income level is determined by the amount of time and effort they put in to the program. Explain that SFI has tips, strategies and free resources for building their online business and they should log in and learn something everyday.
Also remind them of the daily free games and contest available to win valuable VersaPoints, CSA's and TCredits.
Don't overwhelm them with too much but give them enough information to peak their interest and to keep them coming back.

How do you use traffic exchange websites to drive traffic to your SFI gateways?

Traffic exchanges are a great way to get lot's of free hit's to your gateways. But the thing is, the folks who are seeing your gateways are seeing the same websites over and over. What you must do is be creative and create a page/website that these folks have not seen before. Grab their attention! Show them something new and exciting. Give them a reason to stop and take notice of your page/website. Tell them why they should click your link and sign up. Let them know you will be there every step of their journey to a successful home business.
When I say 'Grab their attention!' I don't mean with lot's of graphics, java and/or music. I mean with words. Throw something in their face that is memorable. Give them a 'Click Here To Open In A New Window' link. Use hit tracking provided by SFI to see what exchanges are working.
When you have your page/website ready then you should join a traffic exchange. Read all the information given at the traffic exchange before signing up. Some will exchange 1 view of your page/website for you viewing someone else's website. There are others who exchange 2 for 1, always look for the best deal. Log in to your account and add your page/website to the rotation and start surfing. The more websites you view, the more hit's you receive to your page/website.

Absolutely stick with SFI's proven system. Yes proven system. SFI has 17 years of experience in their system. It works. Follow this proven system along with your own touches and strategies. You never know when something extra will trigger a response from your downline and they will realize what an amazing opportunity they have stumbled upon.
I would recommend to ask your upline and/or in the forum for advice and opinions just to make sure your 'own touches and strategies' are allowed.

Your downline will learn a lot about you through your leadership page. They can determine how dedicated you are to your SFI business by the badges you have earned, your recomendations and your best tip.
Offer rewards and incentives to motivate your team and recognition of others for inspiration.
Your blog post can be used to inspire and motivate your downline. Blog about your wins at Pricebenders, T-Time, Daily Crown and Daily Grand. Blog about the super results you had at your favorite advertising site. Give advice and free resources for gateway traffic.
Use your leadership page to gain the trust of your downline as you motivate and inpire. Be truthful and helpful. Encourage your team to contact you for assistance.
Always add your leadership page link in your email to your downline.

This is how I do it in my Wordpress blog...
Choose the banner you would like to use.
https://www.sfimg.com/Resources/MarketingCenter
Copy the HTML code.
Log in to your blog. Go to 'Appearance' and click on 'Widgets'.
Drag the 'text' widget to the sidebar where you want the banner to appear.
Open the 'text' widget by clicking the arrow in right corner.
Paste the HTML code.
Click Save.
Visit your blog to view your banner.
