As far as getting started the best actions to focus on are watching the start video. After this I would go and at least get a general understanding of the information located under the SFI basics button. This is important in itself because the first thing it mention which is getting VP is also the next thing that I would recommend.
You should look over all the getting started tasks that you can, even if it is just a few a day till they are done as they give you a good overview of what your business is all about. As well as these tasks, each day you will receive and Email to read one of the launchpad lessons which are located by pressing the button right next to the SFI Basics on the top of your affiliate homepage. I would suggest doing just the one a day so that you can absorb the information being presented to you. You do not have to do them all at once.
Last but not least, take your time to get to know and understand everything about your SFI business and the TripleClicks store so that when you actually start marketing you have a basic understanding and can answer questions that are asked by potential downline members.

What do you do on a daily basis to promote your SFI business?

First thing I do is all the stuff on the SFI/TC Website that I need to do such as daily tasks and any auction/gaming stuff. Also posting some product links to my facebook and twitter accounts.
However my main promoting of SFI/TC happens when I leave the site and go and advertise on other outside platforms that I use. So everyday, I either purchase or do what I need to to get free advertising on the numerous other sites that I use as part of my promotion of the SFI/TC business.
I also have a SO for both 10 PSA's to go and 1 share of S-Builders that I use to promote my business here. When I get enough MRP I go around to all the TC stores that offer hits to your sites or direct PSA's and order some of those with my MRP also.
So I use various and numerous method's to promote my business. Just make sure you are using Hit Tracking so that you know which methods work the best.

How much time a day, approximately, do I need to invest in SFI to build a profitable business?

This question from what I have seen of my short time here so far depends on how good of a team you have set up and whether or not you have the funds to invest in your business. If you have no funds to invest then you are going to have to make an investment of time.
Myself, I usually spend a couple hours a day on the SFI/TC sites doing various things like my daily tasks, reading training lessons, playing games, or bidding at auctions and such. I have a unit of S-Builders and 10 PSA's to go on SO so I do not have to worry about that, I also send out links to my facebook and twitter accounts on various TC products that I am interested in and such.
Now my real time investment happens when I leave the site as I use outside advertisement methods to promote my SFI/TC business. I spend 6-8 hours on days when I do not have to go to my other job advertising my business here, and on days when I do work at my job I pretty much spend all day about 16 hours working between the two. Of course I am trying to go for the best possible results in the least possible time, talking about days and months of course, not hours, so that is what I do.
I guess the main questions you should ask yourself is: How much time do I have to invest in making my business successful, and how quickly ( days and months, not hours) do I want to accomplish that in?

How do we know if our PSAs and CSAs are serious about building a successful SFI business?

This is the short answer, talk to them.
communication is key because unless you are like me, I tend to learn by doing not by being told what to do, you need the motivation. Go over the basic beginning steps with a person and tell them that this is not a get rich quick scheme, or even a make money quick platform. Tell them that it takes time and patience, then look or listen or read, if you are IMing or Emailing, for the signs that they are still interested. Once they tell you that they are ready to start working to make a successful SFI business then start training them in earnest to do all the things that you do for success.

Which is better to pursue...CSAs or PSAs?

Easy answer is both. They both earn you commissions in the end. However they are both different things and are attained different ways so you can actively pursue both at the same time.
PSA's ( Personally Sponsored Affiliates) are the people that you bring in through your work in advertising the SFI program. These folks are going to give you a bigger chunk of the commissions and through the power of duplication you can teach them to do the same things that you have done. In this way you get even more perks such as Matching VP which will earn you more shares in the TC executive pool every month and hence more money.
CSA's ( Co-Sponsored Affiliates) are more like a reward for different VP milestones, you automatically get 2 when you hit EA every month, and you get a certain amount of shares of second hand CSA's when you achieve teamleader positions.
You can also bid on both at the pricebenders auction which I would say bidding on PSA's would be better for the money that bidding on CSA's but that is just my opinion there.
I conclusion go for both and teach both how to duplicate the way you do.

What would be a better goal and why? Sponsor hundreds of new PSAs every year or teach a smaller number of EAs to each develop EAs themselves?

Duplication is definately the best way to go in this situation. I mean more PSA's does mean that you will have a good chance of getting more that will reach EA status, but you need to make sure you are working with the ones that are EA and that have maintained an EA2 status so that they can begin forming their own team of EA's and EA2's. This way you can be sure that you will have progressive generations in your downline which leads to more money for you in the long run and higher TL rankings as well due to matching VP.
So while you do not want to give up on recruiting those mass PSA's. You also want to make sure that your current EA's are learning to amass and train their own downlines the same way that you do.

Is it worth it to keep sending supportive emails to PSAs and CSAs who have 0 VP and been inactive for weeks or months?

I know it may feel like a waste of time to keep send out newsletters and email when you believe that they will just be ignored but the simple fact is that some people need to hear different things than others and maybe one of those emails that you send out will be read and will strike a chord with someone who you thought was previously inactive. Then all of the sudden BANG they are on your movers list and working their way up. So while you should work with your worker on promoting duplication, do not forget about all the others because they could wake up at any time.

What should I work on to build my SFI business when I can't access the SFI Affiliate Center?

I do not understand why you would not be able to access your affiliate center but if for some reason you cannot and still have internet access( only reason I can think of why you would not be able to access your affiliate center other than getting banned from the site) then I would say continue to advertise. Most of the sites I use outside of TC purchases have all my links in their memory or I can go and check out the links that I have previously promoted and use one of those to place more ads so that my campaigns will not stop during this time of no affiliate center.
If you have any X-cards or flyers printed out from a batch before you lost connection if you do not have internet services then you can still go around and hand those out with your affiliate ID on them. Consequently I keep all my affiliate ID's for whatever I am doing written down so that if something like my internet being shut down happens I can still advertise. I also have all my gateways that I use written down so that I can tell people about them and still send them to the site under my name, also giving them my phone number in case they need help they can call me.
This would be the advice I would give to ya.
