How can I convince new affiliates of the importance of logging in at the Affiliate Center every day?

The best way to convince new affiliates of the importance of logging in at the Affiliate Center everyday is by explaining to them the fundamentals of SFI. Help them understand the basics fully, so they will know where to start.
Or how about telling them your own experiences about SFI with your Affiliates. People will want actions and not some theory. So explain to them the essentials of SFI and give your own practical experiences. That would convince them.

Is it wise to 'bribe' your downline with Gift Certificates, TCredits or other incentives? Or does this practice come back and bite you?

In SFI your success depends on your downline affiliates.
Bride. You give incentives to your downline to increase there ranks quickly for your own benefit. Because of the offer, they might fail to take necessary tasks to improve their knowledge and income.
Reward. Your downline increase their ranks and you offer a compliment in return for their action. This will motivate them to work even harder and also will motivate the your team.
Therefore, it is better to Reward rather then to Bribe.

The best person to answer this question would be an affiliate with results. That is, an affiliate with a Platinum Team Leader Badge.
In theory, the best strategy to become a Platinum Team Leader is to stick to the SFI Ultra-Plan. Build your system and let people work it for you. Recruit affiliates; Train them;Let them recruit their affiliates. This way I believe one would become Platinum Team Leader

SFI is no fast money making scheme or get rich quick program. It is serious business, like traditional business, and you have to committed and invest to earn. To earn in SFI you have to build your system and let people work it for you. Stick to the ULTRA-PLAN. That is only way for one to succeed. If one is here for quick win, than this is not right place, and you might plan on opting out.

Leaders are not born. They are made. Through SFI, one can develop great leadership traits and learn leadership tactics and/or strategies. Not only are these leadership strategies applicable to SFI. No, you can apply them in other aspects of life. SFI has motivated me to be confident in myself to educate and lead others.
