There are many free ways to sponsor affiliates - Traffic exchanges, safe lists, text and banner ad exchanges, credit mailers etc
But these methods aren't always effective.
The people using those sites are doing so for the same reason you are - to have their program seen by as many people as possible. They click for credits, not to join other programs. Also, I've found that recruiting through these free traffic members often results in inactive affiliates for the most part. Many people still believe in the "get rich quick overnight for free" programs that people are promoting and shy away when they see that time, effort and investment is required. Having said that, they can be good for getting people here and then it's up to you to work with them to try and make them active.
Perhaps the best and most effective FREE method of attracting people to SFI is through word of mouth. By speaking to people and having conversations with them you'll be able to gauge their interest and speak to them sincerely about what SFI is, how it works, and why it would be good for them to join.
Blogging can also be effective if you post quality information about the program that will draw people in and awaken their interest over time and not just promote, promote, promote.
