My answer to your question will be based on my own personal experience.
I asked my sponsor the same question last year and she told me that it is a good idea to do both; that is, buy PSA and also learn to sponsor them myself.

She told me that she invested money to buy some and I was one of the ones she bought and since I am very active she was happy with me.
So I went ahead and invested in buying PSAs, but you know everyone's luck is different because even though I have spent a considerable amount of money on purchasing Affiliates both from S-Builder coup and from TripleClicks, the only ones that I have that are active are the ones I personally sponsored myself.

All the others were like flashes in the pan, here today gone tomorrow.
So decide for yourself if I should have been better off investing the money spent on buying PSAs on marketing materials that will enhance my duplication/recruiting methods and get more people interested enough to take a shot at SFI like my current "movers" PSAs did and stay the course. I also believe if you sponsor them yourself, you will work harder to keep them.

But like I said you might be luckier than I am. But all the same whether bought or sponsored you must be prepared to work hard at helping your PSAs understand the SFI business concept and to encourage them by being a good sponsor to get the required knowledge themselves to build up their business and not to give up easily.

I will say to them that I have been there too and show them the result of investing in my business and staying the course by showing them what I now earn.

To grow anything, be it a business, a relationship, a building or even a life, you must input into it some sort of investment. It could be time, money, effort and energy, it all boils down to putting yourself out and letting go of a little to gain a lot at the end.
Even planting any seed, you need to tend it and water it to get a grown plant that will finally give you seeds or fruits at the end of the day. You invest a little money into your SFI you get a life time of income at the end of building up your business, just like you plant a couple of corn grains and you harvest a field of corn cobs the end always justifies the means.

So tell them that the patient dog eats the fattest and juiciest bone. They need to endure and persevere, and also continue to do the work of growing the business and they will laugh last and best.

My participating in Ask SC has added a lot of value to my work in SFI.
The wealth of knowledge I gathered from reading other Affiliates' answers just boggles my mind.
At first I used to avoid doing it because I thought it was too much work for too little gain, and it was repetitious; since you get the same ones for weeks.
But suddenly I realized something when I started doing it just for the VP. I started learning a lot about the business and from people's questions I realised these are questions bothering my mind but I've not put into words and just like that I get my solutions from the answers given.

It has also opened my eyes to possibilities especially in the area of advertising or telling people about the business; with loads of solutions on where/how to get your message across to others so they can see the opportunity of a life time presented by SFI.
These pointers helped me in duplicating myself by getting my family and friends interested in SFI.

In doing this you have a focus, and knowing this is your destination makes you endure any hardship you might meet on the way and when you find a stumbling block, without a goal in mind some people might give up. But when you think of your goal, you are bound to look for ways to overcome any and every obstacle on your part to reaching that goal.
Now that the goals tab is part of your everyday list of To-Do, you will find people achieving more because they can easily see and measure their progress and see where they need to put in more effort.

Basically life is about goals and anyone without goals you will see just goes through life as if walking in a fog with no destination in mind or view.
Goals are the motivating force behind every success we are able to attain in life.
But don't limit yourself by setting impossibly high goals that will eventually make you give up or ridiculously low goals that will turn you into a lazy slob; Reach for the stars and the sky is your limit.

For any new Affilite I would advice you take your time. Go to the Lunch-Pad I find it the most useful tool in setting you on the right part. Don't read too much at once so you don't overload and shut down. Read carefully and digest it.
Learning to go to your To-Do List and try to accomplish as many tasks as you can without tiring yourself out and loosing interest. When you follow the daily guidelines and do your daily bit, seeing the points mounting will encourage you to come back the next day and like every new born baby, take baby steps one day at a time and very soon you will see yourself running and then flying.
When you make the money it becomes easier to put in longer hours, because you will realise that the work is building up your business and making you more money to become financially independent.
The satisfaction will bring with it excitement and the drive to do much more.
I wish you every success you wish youeself, but know this nothing good comes easy; but SFI has done most of the hard bit for you just use it as your Lunch-Pad to success.
