I feel the 3 biggest keys to success with SFI are:
1. KNOWLEDGE: It's the primary thing you need to succeed in any business. The Launchpad lessons, the Internet income series and all the rich pool of training materials available on this site are there to equip you with the knowledge you need to excel on your business. So ensure you grow in knowledge everyday!
2. COMMITMENT: This is a real business and success is not overnight. Without the commitment to doing the right things everyday - logging in, advertising, duplicating, supporting your team, learning - you can't succeed on this business!
3. PERSISTENCE: You'll need so much of that. A lot of people quit before they even try. They do not get the immediate success they desire and they become discouraged and give up. You need to give this business time. As long as you keep doing the right things, you're bound to progress. It may not be as fast as you'd want, but you need to be patient with yourself. You must persist. Remember, you win if you don't quit!

Moving from an EA to a Team Leader means business! Unlike the EA rank that can be attained simply be setting up an SO of 1500 VP, Team Leadership requires at least 3000 VP and in addition, you must:
1. Have minimum 1,500 points / maximum 2,000 points from sales/purchases each month
2. Maintaining a Leadership Page, and
3. A minimum 3-star rating (not applicable if TLs have less than 5 ratings).

While you can easily pick up 2000 VP qualified points from TC sales/purchases, you'll need to accumulate at least 1000 VP action points to become a Team Leader. Action points are points obtained from:
1. Your daily, weekly and monthly actions.
2. Team Leadership and Support points
3. Intermediate actions such as setting up and SO and submitting most popular/second most popular Ask SC answer. (Find out details about these in your To-Do List tab of your Affiliate Homepage.)

Hence to become a Team Leader, you must take responsibility for your SFI business and begin treating it as one. This implies that you must:
1. Visit your SFI homepage daily and ensure you pick the 492 VP from your daily, weekly and monthly actions.
2. Make sure you have an SO of at least 1500 VP so you get the 100 VP bonus that goes with it.
3. Participate in the Pricebender Auction. Not only do you have the chance to win items at far below the retail price, you also get 1 VP for each bid you place. You can make up to 500 VP max from bidding each month.
4. Advertise and promote you SFI business everyday. If you are an EA2 and are among the top 20 enrollers for the day, you get 2 VP per enrollee.
5. Submit answers for the Ask SC questions. If your answer is the most popular/second most popular, you get 100/50 VP.
6. Most importantly, work hard at building a team, after all that is what being a Team Leader implies. apart from matching VP on all EA2s in your downline up to the 12 levels, you make between 100 - 300 VP on each of your PSAs that re-qualifies as an EA, BTL, STL, GTL or PTL.

I think it's a great tool for motivating your not only your PSAs, but all other members of your team. But for contests to be effective, they have to be set up to attractive and you have to create enough awareness for all qualified to participate.

I currently have 5 contests running and I've planned them in such a way that there is something in it for every member of my team - PSAs, CSAs and other downliners. Some of the celebrate their successes while others motivate them to aim higher. Making them attractive means you have to commit some good resources to it. But it's worth every bit of it. You must realize it's a win-win situation for everyone - their success is your success!

But you must remember that no matter how good contests are, your team members need to enter the contests to participate in them. So use your TeamMails, Team Talk, Mailers, LP blogs, Regular Mails, Text Messages, Calls etc. to get words about it out. I'm already getting some results and I hope you do to. All the best.

The answer to that question is simply YES!

One of the things that keep an affiliate active is having his own team to support, nurture and build. Apart from logging in every day to carry out their daily actions, they'll now have the reason to log in daily to assess the progress of their team and provide support for their downline.

To maintain your BTL Rank, here are where you can get the 3000 VP required:

1. CONSTANT VP

i. 2000 VP TC Sales/Purchase
ii. 500 VP Auction per bid
iii. 330/341 VP Daily Actions for 30/31-day month
iv. 120 VP Mailer
v. 20 VP TConnect
vi. 12 VP Stream Posts

That’s a total 2992/3003 VP possible each month not counting the variable items below, and without help from downline. So you qualify as a BTL for a 31-day month but will NEED ONLY 9 VP from the list below to become a BTL in a 30-day month. This can easily be covered by 1 product review.

2. VARIABLE VP

These variable VP earners are the ticket to STL and above. Note that some of these are activity VP that require no action from the downline and some are awarded only if that downline is suitably active.

i. 100 VP for each referred new ECA

You must let him know that we all felt disappointed when we saw our first commission, including those making heavy commissions currently. The only way he would have made much in commissions the first month was if he generated heavy TC sales or had referred ECAs who made great sales.

SFI isn't a one hit business and was never designed to be so. It's a real business and like every real business, it takes time to grows. This is because you'll have to take time to learn the principles governing it, to begin applying them, and to remain committed to the growth and success of your business. I'm sure he'll agree he spent most of his first month trying to understand what the business is all about. If that was the case, how does he expect to make so much from what he understand so little?

It's true for affiliates below your PSAs, you don't have vital information them like their emails, phone contacts etc. nor do you have access to their personal VP ledger to see details of their activities for the month. But from you genealogy, you are provided with information on their total VersaPoints and their VersaPoints for the month. Armed with this information, you are able to measure to a great extent their level of progress in SFI.

Now how do you help them? Your only means of communicating with them is through TeamMail. You can try and motivate and stir them to action by using the filter option in you genealogy to filter by VersaPoint (total or month), date joined, last login etc to send group TM or filter by SFI ID to send TM to particular affiliates. Some of them may respond thereby opening other channels of communication with them.
