For the first month all new affiliates should concentrate on just THREE things.
1) Log in to SFI and doing the DAILY tasks on the "To Do" list. Also note that there a few things that can be done once or 3 times a week. Do those as well when they can be done.
After doing that, then concentrate doing the next two things at your leisure, but making sure to complete them before months end. Those are:
2) Completing ALL the actions in the "Getting Started" list.
3) completing all 30 tasks in the "Launch Pad".
This is ALL any new affiliate need concentrate on during their first month.

How can I find good sites for free or low-cost classified ads?

You can spend HOURS googling and researching but it's still just a shot in the dark. Personally I feel the BEST way to find a good low cost site to work well with SFI is to ask your upline for recommendations. Also you can ask right here on the SFI forums and ask SC. My point being is that there are many successful people right here who have already know which advertizing sites work best for SFI.
How can I get more of my affiliates to upgrade to EA?

First I educate them with a prepared e-mail that illustrates the many benefits offered by SFI for achieving EA status.
Then around the middle of the month I check my genealogy report to see who is within 500 VP of achieving their EA status and I send THEM a follow-up e-mail again reminding them of the benefits of obtaining EA and also offer them the incentive that if they achieve EA status before the end of the month I will reward them by assigning them 5 PSAs
Those who achieve it GET the reward and I follow up with ANOTHER E-mail congratulating them on a job well done and as a final incentive I tell them that from that point on if they will MAINTAIN their EA status I will build their downline for them by awarding them 5 PSAs EVERY month they keep that status. :)

How much should an SFI affiliate spend on advertising each month?

It all depends on your expected results to what you are advertising for. For myself I like to estimate how many PSA's I hope to sponsor and plan to budget an estimated $1.00 per PSA. For example if I believe an ad campaign can yield me 20 PSA's I would budget $20.00 for that ad. In addition I always look at my SFI earnings for the month and plan to also put 20% of that back into advertising.
