However, I will not advice you to make your understanding of their personalities the main focus of your first letter because you may put your PSAs under immediate pressure which may back fire, but you may subtly chip in one or 2 personalised aspects like expected monthly income, expected rank within a specified period and type of car. Personalised letters are very effective because they address the direct problems associated with or issues peculiar to individual members of your downline, so it is not only necessary to reflect this in your welcome letter, but also important to approach it as a work-in-progress (WIP), required in letters regarding training, assistance and mentoring.

It is important to mention that as your new PSAs get larger, it becomes very difficult to do personalised letters, but may become practicable as the 'fog' settles gradually and you can see who is who clearly among them. I will add that the best time to do personalised letters, where your new PSAs are in droves will probably be when your Movers are established.

One important point is not to be carried away by the information supplied by your new PSAs in their affiliate profile because most of them just complete it without paying attention to or having the understanding of the purpose. Certainly, you should promote Pricebenders to your team and the main reason for this is for them to have the opportunity of enjoying the benefits associated with it.

Success is relative so it varies with individuals in accordance with your objectives and goals. This means what constitutes success to one person may not be to another and to discuss this in a generals sense that will satisfy everybody is a tall order. However, it will make sense to start by saying that success is in the eyes of the beholder, you are supposed to be the person who will ultimately determine the number of PSAs that correspond to your perceived meaning of success as it relates to you.

Having said that, note that sponsorship is not about quantity but quality, so how many PSAs you currently have that satisfy your objectives of success out of the numerous ones in your team in terms of direct commission, VP match or even ECA royalties? It could be 3, 5, 10s, 100s, 1000s depending on their level of activity and how deep you are able to build and duplicate.

The measure of success may be influenced by your personal profile or status, for example, financial circumstances, SFI as a second income Vs SFI as a first and/or only income and other commitments. Does it therefore mean you should remove your foot from the pedal once you have reached that level of perceived success? NO, because success is a journey and not a destination, so it is subject to rough rides and inconvenience which should always motivate us to aim as high as we can in order to stay successful and be more successful.

The Join My team (JMT) gateway is a personalised gateway which you can use to a large extent the same way you use the other gateways. However, I am using this gateway mostly for my warm market and other target audiences.

My warm market knows me personally and since the JMT gateway is personalised with more details including my badges, it promotes my success so far in my SFI journey. It will therefore not only promote SFI to new prospects in my warm market, it will also promote my current and on going successes or status to those within it that I have approached before but were some how skeptical to join.

In so doing, I am now sending this gateway using e-mail, text messages, social network sites, fora discussions etc for my warm market. Again since this gateway is more explanatory, it has reduces the time it usually takes me to engage in back and forth regarding requests for more information. However, I use cloaking software to advertise this on social media like facebook where our gateway is not accepted. Recently, I also discovered that some cloaking are also not accepted on places like facebook and what I now do is to replace the .com with dotcom, instructing prospects to replace the dot with . in their browsers.

Also, since the gateway promotes both SFI and TC, including price benders, I therefore modified my content to include the promotion of all three which means that, instead of placing 3 separate ads for each I now do 1 in some cases.

Having said this, I also use it in my target advertising to prospect for those who are interested in online business opportunities as well as those who are experienced. This is because they may be able to understand more of the detail including the effects of the badges, believing that they may be more willing to identify with a successful affiliate. In this regard, I use the JMT gateway in Pay per Click (PPC) sites, online marketing forum sites etc.

I do not think there is any special way you manage cultural and time zone differences in your team because SFI is an international company. However, this does not detract from the fact that you may need to adapt strategically by recognising these differences and directing your guidance and leadership skills accordingly. Some of these tips may be necessary:

1. One of the problems that may arise with diverse culture is where certain words in your communication may be interpreted differently therefore producing unintended responses. You may as a matter of precaution avoid using words that may be subjected to different interpretations.

2. Some cultures may not permit some affiliates to engage in certain aspects of this business, so you have to respect the preferences of members of your team and do not persist where they do not follow your guidance in certain areas.

3.Be careful not to be too cosy or personal to certain members, especially women as it may be perceived by some cultures as undue interference of privacy, so it will be better to be professional in your dealings with members of your team.

4. One way to create an effective culturally diverse team is to reassign affiliates to others within the same cultural background, which will also resolve the problem associated with language difficulties where translation software are not effective. This type of reassignment will also create trust and improve assistance as they may be faced with similar problems that require similar solutions.

5. Though I have seen where some affiliates complain of the effect of different time zones, between their countries and SFI time. I personally do not see this as a big problem because the onus is on individuals to adjust to the SFI CST. However, you can direct your team to set the auction time to their local time for example. Also, if you engage in virtual discussion with your team, then you may need to split sessions to accommodate the different time zones in your team as much as you can, in such a way that you as the team leader will be the only one suffering the inconvenience of these different time zones, because uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. Alternatively, you may sent the url of any virtual discussion or webinars to your team to watch at their own respective convenient time where practicable to do so.

In most cases it is difficult to determine in advance the good spots to advertise without trying them out first, otherwise we all will be advertising there. However, you may have a sense by these methods:
