It sounds obviously wise to do your own advertisement if you have the competence and time, because the advertisement world is very competitive and may also be time consuming in some cases. Personally I prefer my own advertisement because I have gradually developed the necessary skills on how, where and when to place ad to gain competitive advantage or get maximum exposure and conversion.

One of the major benefits of your personal advertisement is that you decide the content, quality, place and time of the ad. You are at liberty to tweak it on a continuous basis in line with your strategic objective. This therefore means you trust the way and manner your PSAs are flowing into your downline or simply put; the source of signups is 'right'.

Having said that, buying signups (PSAs) require some very careful and due diligence consideration, regarding the authenticity of the sources of supply which are often contentious and problematic, because in most cases it is difficult to determine. However, there are sources that have some credibility but some very unscrupulous suppliers have encroached on this credibility, so trust becomes highly priced.

It is important to point out that there is no guarantee any where either from your personal advertisement or purchases that signups will be active, so it may be sufficient for the sake of credibility, that sources of signups are associated with the content and place of the ad. The questions to ask therefore are;

1. What grade of traffic is associated with where supplies are coming from; is it high, low or junk?
2. Does the ad content tells the truth and does it offer dubious incentives to sign up?

Now, when you think of these 2 questions, you will be in the best position to decide from which source you will be able to get positive answers to these questions; your personal ads or a supplier's.

To conclude, I advice you have your own website or blog to promote the entirety of your business, including generating signups (PSAs) and it does not mean you are doomed if you haven't or cannot have one. My second alternative will be to have your domain name and lastly, your SFI gateway e.g. JMT, for your personal advertisement.

This is pretty straight forward and I think there are different types of seriousness as building a successful SFI business, but the time frame with which to ascertain what stage of seriousness your PSAs and CSAs are also differ:

There are those who show seriousness from the beginning; they get their fast track badge, complete a great deal of their affiliate profile and within a very short while become EA, so any one will feel this category of team members is serious as beginners.

At this stage some of them are stalked and begin to ask you questions on how to go forward and they even reply your messages and ask for further explanations where necessary. Some will act on your guidance and move on while others will not and are gone. Those that move on will show some signs of additional seriousness; login daily and earn a minimum of 10 VP, ask relevant questions that demonstrate they are seriously learning, you may see them at the forum (but not necessarily), maybe at the Games and auctions, while they are starting to show interest on how to have a team, may be to become ECA, do sales and engage in transfer buying among others.

Subsequently some may begin to invest money in one way or the other to further enhance their opportunity of success; may set up a standing order, a growing team, bragging rights (badges), resilience in the face of adversity and gradually, may begin to see upward mobility (rank).

As you can see, these are different signs with different times to determine the seriousness of building a successful business, but the fundamental criteria in my opinion are consistency in working your SFI business and taking advantage of any opportunity that unfolds.

Your Movers are the most active members of your team, at least those that login regularly, so it is only stating the obvious to say there is need to take them very seriously by regular communication, recognition when due and encourage them to duplicate your efforts, assuming your efforts are paying off, then if they do you have a chance to maximize your SFI business.

There may certainly be some in your movers that login on a regular basis but do not have the wherewithal to consolidate their businesses. They have interest in the business and may just be hanging on till when they have gained enough confidence, knowledge or capital to advance. You must appropriately and continuously encourage and assist them where possible. You can reassign some of your PSAs to them and may even include them in you co-op. The responsibility of having to lead their own team is a morale booster that will in turn promote your SFI business.

Yet the are others in your Movers that are doing very well who may need little or no assistance but yet they need to be praised and recognised whenever they achieve a mile stone. These category of your Movers grows your business the most, so there is nothing wrong to occasionally send them gifts and e-card to appreciate their hard work. You may also use the Recognition section at the forum to celebrate their successes and achievements. The main purpose of these is to let them know you are closely following their success and you appreciate and recognise their hard work, which will in turn encourage them to even work harder knowing fully well that their sponsor deserves part of the fruit of their labour.

However, it is important to note that your Movers are at the least regular loggers at the SFI centre, but may not necessarily be those that are currently making your business successful because there are several team members who may not have time to login regularly but are making huge impact in a different way from which you benefit immensely, so it is also important not to loose track of them.

SFI is basically where you grow and nurture a team while TripleClicks (TC) is where the real e-commerce takes place; buying and selling. However, there is inherent danger in actually trying to separate both because one complements the other.

Personally, I do not advocate you have specified time for each but that you deal with both as business interests that are dynamic in nature. For example are you going to stop work on promoting TC products because you have reached the allocated time even when there are several new and promising products and initiatives that are introduced every minute or are you going to spend all your time monitoring TC in order to attend to the dynamic nature and put work on SFI in jeopardy?

The answer is no, so you need to attend to issues as they arise or become necessary, depending on your priority or strategy in building a successful SFI business. For example an affiliate who is well experience in marketing and e-commerce may want to concentrate and spend more in TC involving marketing, while another well experienced affiliate marketer may spend more on SFI building an active team involving training and communication.The extend and time necessary to train and communicate depends on the needs and requirements of your team members.

Having said this, there are affiliates like my self who concentrate and spend time on working SFI and promoting TC because they are interwoven and inseparable to building an embracing and successful SFI and TC business. For example what is the hype of having a team if not to promote and patronize TC which is the oil that lubricates SFI as a globally recognised and successful business.

There are 3 ways in my opinion:

Since we all know the importance of Tcredits in this business; pay for purchases at TripleClicks, bidding at pricebender and give out to your team, there is no doubt that all these are very helpful and important in building a successful SFI business.

3. Generating Signups

Successfully promoting Eagle Zebra games to games enthusiasts have the effect of 'catching' prospects and before you know it you may have 'acquired' some Personal Referred Members (PRMs), who may also convert to become your Personal Sponsored Affiliates (PSAs). There are two types of people who may not have trust in online business; those already in and those not already in. So it will be necessary to look around yourself and further from yourself when you want to attract ECAs.
They say charity begins at home so look within your downline if you have one because with the benefit of hindsight, I have discovered that some are not aware that they can list their unwanted stuff for cash and also if they have a physical store, they can register as an ECA. I often include these opportunities in my weekly newsletters and I was amazed that a large proportion of them are not aware. As a consequence, I have some as ECA's and more are willing to join.

You may also need to employ some of TripleClicks ECA referral items like envelopes and letter headed sheets to make your promotion more professional, convincing and attractive. Peruse the Yellow Pages or the equivalent for small businesses around your area then contact them either by phone or by post but be knowledgeable about the programme because some will definitely request for more information. Do not ignore the main street in your locality and businesses where you are a customer because they are kind of your warm market too; familiarity if you know what I mean.

At a point you may need to physically visit these targets where it is practicable to do so and remember you have to be professional both in appearance and attitude. Everybody handles his or her business in different ways because our experiences, objectives and interests are different. SFI is a big business for you and therefore demands a huge investment of time to build a formidable and sustainable business, so I will attempt to answer your question in a more generic way.

You just have to login daily and complete your daily actions and attending to genealogy issues in about 45 mins.

Take another 30 mins to read and learn something new like internet income lesson, marketing and sponsoring strategies etc.

You may need additional 45 mins to explore the world of TripleClicks; auctions, Eagle Zebra games, peruse products of interest to promote.

It is good business strategy to form the habit of sponsoring affiliates and referring TC members on daily basis, so you may need to spend like 1 hour prospecting by placing ads or using other conventional methods.

On a general note about 2 hours a day is enough, but it may not make sense to stick to a time routine because the nature of this business is very dynamic and you can never know what awaits you once you login. Also, if you take this as a full time work as some do, it will be inconceivable to work for just 2 hours when in essence, you should be looking at about 6 hours.

It is important to mention that success is relative to various individuals depending on your criteria of measuring success. Some measure success when their ego and pride are on full display, while others measure it in terms of monetary gains.

Those that seek ego and pride have many badges to show and therefore satisfied that they stand out even if they do not gain financially, they feel accomplished and therefore successful, but proud and broke.

Those who measure success in terms of financial prosperity look at their monthly commission against their investment and feel they have succeeded if they make a reasonable and consistent net gains financially. However, there are some who are satisfied when they earn a consistent/improving income stream even if they do not break-even, believing at some point they will break-even and begin to make profit, so to they are successful in this regard.

In my own opinion, I think there is no limit to success, but you may assume success when you are able to build a formidable and promising business here that has the potential to consistently improve your return on investment. To be more liberal, it may also mean that you are subtly and confidently achieving the objectives you have set for yourself, using key performance indicator to score your success; how many in your downline are active? what results do you get from you advertisement campaign? what about sales and revenue from your TC endeavours? etc.

On a general note there are no best actions in my opinion, but rather it depends on individual preferences, objectives and strengths, so what constitutes my best action may be someone else's worst action. In a nutshell, I will say what constitute anyone's best action will be that which meet a stated objective.

Now what are the actions that generate revenue here?

-Sponsoring and duplication (team building) might be best action for someone who wants to build a profitable SFI business from which he expects a steady income stream that will sustain him on the long run or in retirement.

-Sales may be best for someone who is interested in generating quick income compared to sponsoring and duplication which take more time to actualize. In this case emphasis may be to drive enough traffic to your TripleClicks sales gateway in order to increase the chances of sales and hence commission for yourself.

-E-Commerce Associate (ECA) and personal listing can also generate immediate and quick income if you generate enough sales by doing very aggressive sales promotion and marketing of your products. You may be an ECA yourself to earn more or refer ECAs to earn less, so this area may constitute your best action depending on the type of income you want and your objective; to promote yourself because you have very attractive products (cash cows), promote your referred ECAs for the same reason or do both.
