I'm told to lead by example in SFI...but how can I demonstrate this to my PSAs and CSAs?

You can lead by example by making sure that you log in everyday, send them Team mail at least once a week, update your Stream Tab at least three times a week and last but not least they will see your badges, who doesn't want to have many badges with gold trimmings? I for one wish all my badges were gold

I would say Tcredits, you know why? Because with Tcredits you can bid for S-Builder on Pricebenders Auctions. And while you bid you get Versapoints and Member Rewards Points which you can also use to buy anything you want, that means Tcredits are a two in one thing.
With S-Builder you only get PSAs you not even sure they will be active.

I would say the best product is Tcredits, why do I say that?
Because when you have Tcredits you can bid on auctions for S-Builder and PSAs to go and while you bidding you get MRPs, Action Versapoints and last but not least win PSAs from Bid and Build, that way you kill three birds with one stone *MRP, PSAs and Action Versapoints*

I would say the most valuable thing to spend your Tcredits on is Pricebenders Auction because you can win CSAs and PSAs at a very lowest price and you can be lucky and get the active ones, I got lucky one day, I won 35 CSAs and I got 1 active one, mind you I only paid $.55
I now receive more than I paid for 35 people and who knows maybe one day the inactive ones will become active.

My answer would be T-credits, why? Because you will spend most of the time with friends and relatives, so, you can get them to compete in games and even bid on Pricebenders Auctions, who knows they can even win the bid and they might get hooked up and decides to sign up as your PSA.

How can I earn 1000 AVP for the status of BTL if I do not have any team members yet?
Let me tell what I have been doing to get 1000 AVP, i only had 1 EA2 so I get 100 points from that EA2 plus 100 from having a 1500 Standing Order and I have 125Tcredits as a Standing Order which gives me +\-125 points because i only bid on double MRP Auctions and make sure that i play a game that is double MRP and when i bid i sometimes win a flash drawing which gives me 4 Tcredits, that's 4 AVP.
I make sure that i buy at least 1 or 2 products so that i can rate/review that products and get +/- 50 AVP and do all the actions daily, weekly and monthly actions.

Should a person go for the rank of Team Leader if they don't yet have a team?

Yes you should and you can be a Team Leader without a team.
I only have one active PSA and a Standing Order of 125Tcredits and I am Bronze Team Leader that means it's doable and you can get your Team along the way while getting all the perks of being a Team Leader like second home CSAs

I think the best way to train your PSAs and CSAs is to tell them to read, read and read information about SFI in order to understand how this business works because SFI has the best Training ever.
So, in your welcoming letter make sure that you emphasize on reading but then offer your help if they need any clarification.

My answer is 'to lead by example'
Your badges says a lot about you. When you buy a product at Tripleclicks you get a chance to review that product and get 25AVP and get a badge. That badge is a motivation, who doesn't want extra badges? I for one wish I had more than 50 badges.
So, I would say lead by example, after all actions speaks louder than words

When should you start buying PSAs? Great question
In my opinion I would say as soon as you understand SFI because you cannot help another person with something you also don't understand.
Give yourself some time, read, read and understand then you can start building your team.
