Admittedly this is something I am learning quickly how to do myself. One step at a time.

What has helped me understand how the e~commerce section and its affiliates work was firstly to become one. Thus I explored the hands on approach ensuring that my knowledge I was going to share was current and up to date [as far as a constantly changing internet environment will allow that is]. As I was experimenting I found

1).. out and practiced some of the steps involved [ like going to the TConnect page weekly]

2) that looking at all the ECA and choosing other ECA's to follow.

3) by promoting some of the products that ECA's have. Helps to know where and how to embed the product codes on blogs, how to catch the attention of a viewer when writing a post highlighting the embedded ECA's product or service.

4) keeping up to date with the reading of forums and 'AskSC' I am of the belief that this is an important and beneficial step for any ECA to accomplish.

5) being able to slip into the conversations with future ECA's just how TC gift Cards and TC Gift Certificates are a very good complementary marketing tools a comprehensive package is being put forward. Hence - just being an ECA is good. But being an interactive and approachable ECA who has a fuller understanding of what both SFI and TripleClicks has to offer both themselves and their consumers ultimately allows the ECA to be proactive with the marketing concepts and timeline..

6) by creating a bigger set of ready made blog posts which are easily altered to suit the ECA inquiries.

The above has deepened my knowledge and understanding basis. Thus the confidence and belief in how the ECA system works comes through when I approach these people.

Trust and understanding due to busy timetables is built as each ECA is being assisted in their potential. It is not a matter of what I have you cannot have. But rather that understanding and trust is duplicatable when assistance is offered.

In summary: Help a new ECA by becoming a trusted, proactive ECA. yourself.

As a partial answer to your question the following answer has three parts.

1) Before you promote your SFI and TripleClicks 'selling posts' what are your actual posts like?
Rearing it's head again this year the catch cry for many years has been "Content is king". Write original 1 page posts/feeds.

Include a selection of original to your hand [i.e. you own] photos, diagrams, videos and presentations.
Use quotes and authors as a lead into the product feedback.

Acknowledge resources and back-links at the bottom of the page. Even if the resources are your other posts.

Make very clear that the post is about income potential. Even if promotion or selling products
Ask for comments.
2) These are basic protocols for all users / writers of blogs. The focus of writing the post is not to 'hit them on the head with buy! Buy! BUY!! but,for the writer of the post to gain a trust factor while also 'drawing' the viewer into becoming a consumer for life. Either as a purchaser or an affiliate. 1 post 1 main focus. 2nd focus equals a second post. Meaning you want to sell a pet product. Then write about the pet product on one post. Re-occurring posts then touch on [and back link to] that pet product.

Back link to other posts where applicable.

Once these are done start to add a mixture of the following:
Embed 1 x TripleClicks product in the post where applicable.
Embed 1 x SFI product [ie banner or button] where appropriate.
3) A question to ask yourself is where is your blog post going to go when you publish it? Who will see it? How are you going to increase your page search engine page rank?

Something that many people are not aware of is that publishing too many products/ services for sale posts will narrow your search engine optimization opportunities down. That said Facebook's changes a few days ago align with what other large 'hosts' [for want of a better name] focus.

To reiterate: writing or / and publishing within a tunnel vision of interest will reduce the other opportunities for viewers. While direct over promoting results in less trust from your viewers and thus they ignore both you and your posts.

At times the frustrations outweigh the possibilities available. Had an old time sales man and his fairly new assistant knock on my door selling books. The newbee was great at putting forward his speal and I was boarded. Just after the hot drink I shared with the salespeople the older sales person asked me one question. He had spent time listening to the questions and answers. His one question centered on me and my need. I quickly brought what he was selling and felt great about handing over the limited amount of money I had.

That being said I do not think one can convince another person by sales talk and wishful dreams. You superimposing your needed onto the other affiliate. Instead consider these two points.

1) Ask the affiliate to keep a join a list swap of places to post. many people have only heard of the platforms that their friends use avidly. Thus the places to post the SFI opportunities have reduced scope.

For example most everyone knows the micro-blog site called twitter. But have you heard of the one called Plurk? There are so many different platforms appearing daily why not share them with every affiliate.

2) Many people are quiet happy to just use the share button without changing the words within the space. Personalizing your message to catch other peoples attention and draw then into wanting to view what you are sending out.

Remember that being an Affiliate of SFI means you do not have a 'job' - what you have is an opportunity that allows someone else an opportunity. The trick is to find out what they want and how what you are doing can help them duplicate themselves as well.

SFI has a wonderful launch pad. However people feel ragged after the first few days during that time they have registered and are launching themselves into SFI with preconceived ideals and pressures to prove themselves.

I find that games are helpful to get around the feeling of being bombarded. By playing a 'game' people are more likely to be receptive to repeatedly push the same buttons. [Think of Pavlov's dog training experiments]. When that person does something automatically they reward themselves by something they think is appropriate to them.

you are no longer just you and your computer going over the steps one step at a time - wondering if you have run out of ideas or even missed something. I you feel stale or like you need a break then this will reflect in what you do and how you approach things.


Example of a game...
Simply I draw a grid of two x vertical and two x horizontal in a box.

For me the top Left square is blank. On this blank square I physically place the different cards which tell me what order I am going to do what today. When I pull out one of these cards that tells me to place a message the rest of the grid is used.

The top and side boxes are numbered.

Insert along the top line three keyword[s] - same along the outer vertical row.

For instance these six words may be :team, versapoints, emotion, where to, what if.... the list is long and so these six words may change frequently

Each day I look for three different things which I can share by 'Stream" / "Genealogy" or "Leadership" blog about simply by pulling out of a 'hat' a number from the top and another from the side. These may correspond with todays words being 'VP's' and 'How to'.

Rewards: Since the top left is now filled with "where cards" the top right has a spare box named self rewards.Refer above.

Other than 'what goes out comes around' please keep these two points of view in mind.

~Encouraging your team
I have been reading a lot about the Gift card. Have not tried these yet but look forward to using these as a stimulative thing associated to the leadership page.

Other than that the stream is great along with CSA messages and Team mails.

~ Working with yourself encourages your team too.
Rather than confuse myself with what I am doing I have a 'plan now' journal. Part of that plan is logging down what I have done and keeping an eye on the response factors. This side of things being something that I have to train myself to do. What is happening is that when I hit a negative vortex that really wants to suck me down within it. I check up and review where I was to where I am heading. Strangely when you review, you motivate yourself. Motivate yourself and the energy flows through out to your team. They receive the energy and some will send it back 100 fold others just a trickle and thus your team has a heartbeat.

I have a Skype account but have found there to be four major challenges when using this or similar accounts.
1) The time zone - being east of Melbourne /Victoria/Australia limits the people 'awake' when I am.
2) Being nearly as far South as one can get and still be on land the reception when communicating with the northern hemisphere is atrociousness.
3) Using WiFi Internet access has a bearing on reception apparently.
4) People cannot get a visual due to ?

There are two other things I will suggest
~ When using the video chat services [ even Hang Outs] having newbies on tend to hinder the group discussions so my suggestions is to have something like Wiki or Blackboard and train while training these team members as a precursor to action.

~ Also no matter how good your chat topics are people need to function to think so allow for the same topic to be on two or three times per day and thus attract time zoned and active thinkers for that 'chat'.

An international dictionary of English spelling. Particularly one with UK English, American English, African English and Australian English sections. Particularly since the generations accents of many people cause variables within the spelling of the words themselves.

The people would then realise that a word spelt in UK English is sometimes different to American English and thus when two people use different spell checks they come up with a 'hit the red arrow and report spelling mistakes' action plan.

Anyone producing one of these and I will happily sell it.

The initial contact. Why: basically 2 reasons.

1) a little mystery is an advantage in that a) you do not bombard them with all the facts - thus sending them running for the hills... before they have nibbled at the lure. You are after all enticing and encouraging them to reach out and take the first steps necessary.

2) the first steps are you and them exchanging email addresses. At this point of time explain that you would like to be added to their contact addresses. Also, once they have added you would they please contact you as soon as possible. You will already have their address in your contacts, so they will be allowed into your email stream! A bit of reverse psychology here. There are so many scammers that you do not want their emails to get lost. Since this is the truth it is not a lie. Plus they feel important enough that you care for them and are waiting for their emails!

The time you have spent writing back up posts re follow up letters will now pay off. Simply on your emails fill in their contact name, the title and add a few lines. Then add that you are happy to introduce them to a second income opportunity. Until the next post from this one goes out, I still have not mentioned SFI or Triple Clicks on the emails.

Once they have responded in a positive way to the SFI lure, I then ask them to add SFI's email to their contacts - again letting me know that this has happened.

Guess what the following email has in it. Your right: the '[email protected]' link for them to add to their contacts. The following email then has the actual link.

The process is slow. But it works as a terrific foundation of trust is built. What happens now is up to your team and the lucky recipient. That new, not so frightened Affiliate coming on board.

I enjoy using the internet and building follower levels up. From this point interactivity with people responding creates a good but tentative two way communication system. They chat and you listen.

Same basic theory with real life person to person contacts. Although the approaches vary with what is happening in their lives currently. There are more 'signs' to be bombarded with and a different but similar set of disturbances to deal with.

However real life people being what they are the initial contact is followed up with internet contact. Even if they give their email address I always follow up with asking that person to write theirs in a notebook. That way if their is a 'mistake' re contact address it is not my writing that the mistake has been made with. Should this happen I do not chase them again even if they are easily caught up with. Acknowledging their right of politely giving them that contact out is a safeguard for them.

When they bring it up though you know they are seriously interested and ready for the endeavours ahead.

Hopefully the rationale behind the systems discussed here can be of use to you and yours. Acknowledged that each of us is different with our approaches that fit each of our circumstances.

Overrated Activity~ personally I am undecided.

Why - I do not think that any activity is overrated for all the SFI affiliates. Each person brought in different skills before they become an affiliate. Naturally I would expect them to gravitate to something they are - if not familiar with -- then are at least marginally interested in, while looking to further their knowledge and skills base.

Underrated Activity - The practical how to areas of SFI.

By this I include the lesson plans [Launch Pad and the other ones], The actual rules and regulations / terms of agreements. Plus OAX [Other Affiliates eXperiences] which include the forums and 'AskSC'.

Rational

Without a basis of knowledge, as well as furthering that knowledge, our minds will get 'stale'. Lets look at the 'AskSC' requirement of 10 clicks = 1 VP. Even if an affiliate just wanted to click and move on, they still have to wait for the arrows to fade in. Something will catch their attention - say a keyword or phrase previously known or one they are wanting to find out more about. The affiliate reads one discussion. Later reads another one. Soon that affiliate may write an answer as well. Other affiliates vote. Up pops another badge on that affiliates page - in this case a Top Author XXXK votes badge.

Actually the badges are testaments to how affiliates are both influencing other people and themselves with self learning. Natural progression of this process is that one small part of self learning is then applied to other areas. Now other keywords and phrases are seen through the other pages. The affiliate becomes familiar with the terminology and thus begins to segment different pieces of theory and practical knowledge together. As the affiliate is literally being rewarded they find themselves want to do more - because they now know they can after all they have been rewarded as well as being part of the SFI community. Plus their own team and a2a's have dropped 'a note' to them as well.

Gradually the 'underrated activity' above becomes a habit. Thus when the affiliate talks to a future affiliate [ there are so many out there too] the knowledge basis has been subtly increased. More answers are ready to be both utilized by that affiliate and their CSA' and PSA's - thanks to the subliminal internal programming which allows each affiliate to want to be 'their best'.

An example has been a question on what external tools are used by affiliates. Affiliates answered with a lot of common ones. But the internet is still developing. Many other 'sites' are emerging every day. Affiliates who read this answer now have other sites to share for themselves or their teams affiliates.

In conclusion:

Strong Futures International has set out of course of learning - unintentional or not - with which people grow within themselves, share with others and develop a better business sense. Results = both an inter and intra supported cohesive collaborative community development program.
