Before we talk about newsletter topics it is important to question ourselves. As an affiliate what were our expectations from our up-line TL. I am listing a few of what I thought my leader should communicate.

1. Regular updates on SFI happenings.

2. Recognition of achievements.

3. Contests from time to time.

4. Motivational messages.

5. Internet marketing - Industry trends.

6. Team size - How it is growing. The top 3 things that the team leader is doing to grow the team.

The primary objective of a newsletter is to establish a connect between the leader and the team. It also establishes a relationship where the team feel wanted and therefore gets confidence that there is somebody to lean on when they need direction guidance. Make no mistake people who are a part of SFI are primarily driven by a need for financial stability and the zest to become an entrepreneur. It is important to keep that in mind while developing the newsletter content.

When you look at this question you first feel "what a trivial question to ask". But then it gets interesting when you start thinking about it.

To me TripleClicks is a platform provided to reach to potential customer at large. IT is simple, affordable, technologically advanced and most importantly provides a ready network of like minded individuals whom you can connect with and potentially expand your business.

To answer the question what's best to sell in TripleClicks. That's answered partially. Treat TripleClicks as a platform rather than a product in itself. What you would want to sell is completely up-to you. It's a platform where you may have people from various social strata - Rich, poor, not so poor. The key is a monster of a market out there. Depending upon your investment capability and the products you are interested in selling you can list it in TripleClicks. Keep in mind that the key is the potential of TC. You have a E-comm site which already has a huge member base and most importantly growing.

To summarize here is how I would look at it:

1. Decide on the quantum of investment.
2. Decide on the segment you would want to target
3. Product targeting the segment.
4. Think of a promotion strategy
5. Have a clearly laid out exit strategy in case of things don't work out.
6. Constantly monitor your budget Vs actual.

While I have mentioned stratification for better focus on the segments it would not be wrong to say you can sell anything here from "Pin to an Elephant"

The best way would be to "Preach what we practice". For the affiliates to treat this as a serious business would be to make sure that we tell them our experiences and most important be open about "what has not worked" more than "what has worked".

We, ourselves, need to be positive and believe that all the associates are here to make their lives better. That's a starting point. Having done that it becomes easier to to deal with associates who are serious and who are not. We are in an online business and obviously the approach has to be different than the conventional one's. I for one believe that we shall have to show the end 2 end capabilities of SFI to show the sheer size of the business and opportunity it provides people to succeed. You may want to ask the following questions and also show the affiliates what SFI provides as an answer:

1. Is the organization stable? - Absolutely. 14 years of successful run with continuous evolution and growth and many success stories.

2. Do I need to invest? - Literally no investment to start a business But invest progressively depending upon your propensity to grow.

3. What if I fail? - SFI has created so much of support material and all of them are tried and tested for success. Additionally, the forum is so strong you literally can reach out to anybody for help.

4. Do I make money from day 1? = Well no. Nobody in this world provides charity. You put in your effort , follow the rules, work hard, think different. You are bound to succeed. Success comes only to those who work for it with dedication, determination and hard work.

There are many more things we could highlight for the associates to take this business seriously. Bottom-line - If your intention is to become an entrepreneur, independent, taking control of your life, make your own decision - "SFI is the place to be in". Work hard, live easy, enjoy life and most importantly "hold your head high".

The first thing successful leaders do would be to consider SFI as serious business and that we need to invest time and resources as we would do in any other business. Make no mistake SFI is not a one of those frivolous online business where you swing in and swing out.

There are some important things we perhaps must do as leaders to be successful:

1. Set a clear goal. We have TAB in the daily 'to do' list. The reason is to have a goal and work towards that. Make sure that these are regulary visited, updated and realistic.

2. Have a growth strategy in place. It could be a marketing, communication, recognition, rewards etc. We need to have a clear strategy for design and execution.

3. Make all your decisions measurable with outcomes. For e.g if you are participating in an auction of 500 T-Credits clearly define thresholds. It does not make sense to win an auction at $15 spending $ 200 to buy T-Credits to win 500 T-credits.

4. Draw budgets as you would do with any other business and stick to it. It may sound silly to talk about budgets in online business. But it makes a lot of sense and budgets provide you direction and how far you would want to go.

5. Manage relationship. Every affiliate is a potential customer. Nurture them. Expand network through A2A. You never know where help can come from. Look for collaboration. A classic example is sharing cost for Co-ops.

6. Maintain rigor in actions. Be it communication, marketing, financials etc maintain a rigor. That would help in running a disciplined business.

7. Share knowledge : Be a part of forums. Contribute, share and learn from forum discussions.

8. Last but not the least always remember that your success depends on how you make your affiliates successful.

Prospects of SFI or any online business can be explained in an impactful manner if we concentrate on some major things to begin with.

1. TRUST - How trustworthy SFI as an organization is. We should definitely talk about success stories, Number of years in business and the how the business has grown over time.

2. Platform - Talk about the ease with which we can become an entrepreneur. How SFI supports an individual with the platform ( I mean the web-site)they have created and how systematic and well crafted the the whole model is. How this is possible only with a lot of fore-sight and tons of investment.

3. Training - How robust the training program is. We should emphasize on the fact that SFI invests a lot of thought and money on creating and updating the training modules. The modules are so user friendly that even a person who has never touched the internet in the past can simply follow the steps and successfully enroll and become an entrepreneur in their own right.

4. The business model : Talk about the breadth of the business. We can talk about affiliates and residual income, Penny auctions, Listing items online for selling. The fact that no other online business provides so many options to pick and choose can be emphasized.

5. Network - SFI provides not only an opportunity to do business but also to expand network. We can connect with people across the globe and therefore expand our business reach.

6. Last but not the least - Every business has a start-up cost. SFI virtually has none. You can start once you make a decision to become an entrepreneur. You can set up your business in the 1st month and from the subsequent months it depends on you how you operate. Whether you would want to plan & invest to get faster returns or you would want use other free resources and wait for success. The choice is left to you.

I think the best way to keep you affiliates engaged and conversing regularly is to make sure that we communicate with them regularly.

It's no different than what we do in our everyday lives be it the workplace or home. What do we do to manage our children/wife/husband/team members in office?

1. Maintain communication rigor.

2. Keep the communication channel open. Voluntarily reach out and communicate.

3 Understand their needs and help in whatever way we can. For example - Understand what's bothering them , provide them incentives, keep motivating them.

4. Communicate with open ended questions which will make them reach out to you. for E.g. Can I do something that will help you achieve EA status?

5. Use the skype to its limits. Affiliates find it easy to communicate when they can put a face to the name. Gives them more confidence in reaching out.

6. Offer webinar's for team members of our affiliates. Makes them believe that we want to make sure that they succeed and open a channel engagement and communication which is fueled by trust. The most powerful tool of them all - TRUST.

It is often said that "The proof of the pudding is in eating it" and not in hearing about it. As leaders we shall have to lead by example Which means that the best way to convince them is to provide them personal experience of how systematic investment helped us to be where we are today.

Additionally, We can reinforce that by providing examples income potential that PSA's and CSA's can generate. Another potentially powerful tool is to provide them with free PSA(s) to show the income potential and also come out with outcome based contests which will enthuse them to be involved. The key is to perform action that have a "perceived value" to the affiliates.

"PERSISTENCE AND BELIEF"

I am saying two things instead of one as I was not sure I could leave out either. Personally, I firmly believe that we can succeed in this business only when we have die hard belief in SFI as an organization and when we don't let our shoulders sag not seeing instant results.

My success has been due to the fact that I have never believed that I will fail provided I do/complete all the activities appropriately and in time. This coupled with the fact that the business model was solid made me that much more determined to stoically go ahead and have the patience for the business to succeed.

As I mentioned earlier "BELIEF" is need to step into the business while "PERSISTENCE" is needed to make it a success.

SFI provides a great opportunity to network with like minded friends through a2a platform. In my opinion the best way to solicit support and assistance would be:

1. Keep it informal to begin with. We shall have to establish a connect before jumping into seeking support.

2. Understand each others mutual interest. This can be achieved through regular communication.

3. Seek a skype meeting. A face to the name always helps in building trust.

4. Share your experiences with SFI and be frank enough to talk about your success and failures.

5. Having done these the platform is set for seeking help. Ask him/her to talk about their experience with SFI. The challenges they faced and how they overcame.

6. Try to understand similarity of the problem and ask them how you can overcome issues. Is there something you can learn from them and duplicate. An indication of wanting to learn is a powerful emotional tool which helps in getting a positive response.

To summarize I would say :- Catch, Connect, Communicate, establish the relationship, nurture, narrate experience and then support and assistance will follow from a2a friends.

There are some basic tenets when it comes to holding a contest.

1. Simple to understand
2. Make sure there is value proposition for the associates
3. Honest communication.
4. Give sufficient time for the contest
5. Help associates if they ares struggling, Financially or otherwise.

Needless to say the contest should have compelling proposition for the associate to respond. Additionally, after having held the first contest we can try to stratify our associate base into :

1. Associate who are active and interested.
2. Associates who are fairly active but no aggressive enough.
3. Associates who are not active.

Our contests can vary based on the stratification. The first category can be easily attracted. The second category can be attracted by crafting some smart contests which will make them to embrace and participate. It is the third category which is the toughest. Have some aggressive targeted communication and try to make them active.

Having talked about the strategies, it is important to make sure that the one' s which are performing should get the maximum benefit from the contest.
